It's been really long I made a post here.
The blame is on the eventful times I've had at work pulling and pushing through the pressures, though enjoying the challenges daily.

In spite of my tight schedules, I still find time to unwind and the past weekend was not an exception.

On the 7th of June, 2023, I was invited to Rivers State University,Ahoada Campus for a talk on "Premarital S*x, Peer Pressure and Academic Performance".

The program was powered by the Vice Chancellor, RSU and organised by the Dean, Students Affairs with the Associate Dean,Dr. S. I. Douglas, the organising force as well as the Head of Campus and all the Heads of departments in the campus.

Hundreds of Students sat with great expectation and delivery was done to God's glory.

I'd share a bit on what was delivered.

Your value- Your choice

Value is the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.

One of the easiest ways to identify values is to ask yourself questions like:

What is important to me?
What would a perfect day look like?
What values are represented in this choice?
What do I spend my free time on?
What do I enjoy doing?
What would I do if there were no limitations?

Our values inform our thoughts, words, and actions.

The decisions we make are a reflection of our values and beliefs, and they are always directed towards a specific purpose. That purpose is the satisfaction of our individual or collective (organizational) needs.

If you're clear on your values, it helps you to be clear on your priorities.
You'd know when to say yes or no to things and people and it gives you a way to check that you are creating a lifestyle that is aligned to what you believe is important.

We must get to the Originator or Manufacturer of S*x using His Manual to understand anything concerning what He created.

1 Corinthians 6:20
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's"

Whatever choice you make determines the consequences you'd be left with, my Friend!

The word, choice is an act of choosing between two or more possibilities.
"the choice between good and evil"

FIGHT FOR YOUR FUTURE.

Your peers might have gone ahead of you.
Thank God for them👋👋👋👐
Life is a marathon and not a 100m dash race.
Don't get into the comparison spree.
Allow God lead you along the best pathway of your life 🙏🙏🙏.

Achieving your aspirations, accomplishing great tasks and reaching your zest brings to you, joy unspeakable such that you'd forget the sufferings of the past.

Is it your relationship, career, academics, business or job?

I shared this story 4 years ago and just received a reminder.

IT HAPPENED TO ME

When I got to Uniport, I started going for fellowship and as we were preparing for exams,our Pastor taught us from scriptures, prayed for us and told us to be independent to avoid issues in the hall. I was young and growing up spiritually o!

Well, the first paper was Analytical Chemistry(a year 2 course) and I was good at cramming so, had all the formula and in no time, was done.

As I was about to submit, my 'Churcheous,Spiro' friend beside me cried and asked for my help. In fact, she said she had forgotten everything so I should Open my Answer booklet for her To Copy. I remembered our Pastor's counsel but didn't want my friend to fail. Anyway, I opened up and she copied Well well and was thankful.

I was accommodating this girl in my room and the tougher course was just a few days away-Organic Chemistry. We were told by our Predecessors, read, you'd fail or barely make 'E' but just read sha for ALMIGHTY ORGANIC CHEMISTRY.

I had a particular past question paper that I thought to study so I asked her and my second roommate for it. We searched the room together and never saw it. I told them I sensed a question would be asked from there. Anyway, we just left it though I was bothered.

It was finally Organic chemistry exam day and gbam gbam, the question I feared was no.1 in section A with 20 marks. Choi! I turned to my 'Churcheous 'Friend for help because she was busy writing.

Do you know what she said? MY PASTOR SAID WE SHOULD NOT TALK IN EXAM HALL.
CHEI! I thought,na me be Mumu na!I reminded her of the other exam and begged even cried but No! It fell on deaf ears.

Few days after the exams,she brought the question paper and said it was in between her books.I forgot 'born again' and Pursued her from my room.

Cam you imagine?
I felt terrible!😢😢😢

How to build Self-Confidence

I promised to share a few tips on how you can build self-confidence.

If you feel like you lack confidence, there are several commonly suggested ways to build Self-Confidence.
Find below a few tips:

1. Take care of yourself
Confidence and self-care are often closely related. Regular exercise, good sleep, and a healthy diet can help make you feel better.

If you take time to evaluate your needs, you can determine what makes you feel good. Practices like mindfulness and gratitude can also help reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and improve sleep.

2. Build Positive Relationships
Those who are negative and try to bring you down can often erode your trust. Try spending less time with these people to improve your self-esteem rather, build relationships with people you like. Your positive attitude can help you feel more confident.

3. Working on a Growth Mindset
Research shows that people with a growth mindset tend to have higher self-esteem and greater resilience than people without a growth mindset.While there is some debate as to whether confidence influences a growth mindset or vice versa, building a growth mindset in other areas of life can be helpful.

4. Challenge yourself
It is recommended that you challenge yourself to build your confidence. While it's natural to be nervous about trying new things, confident people will still be up to the challenge.

Setting goals that can help you shape new behaviours, focus, and make incremental progress would help greatly.

5. Practicing Affirmations
Various studies have demonstrated the power of affirmations. Basically, you can reinforce these positive thoughts by talking to yourself about your strengths and confidence. In particular, one study shows that self-affirmations can help maintain self-efficacy, which is an essential part of self-confidence.

Other studies have shown that neural pathways in the brain respond when people exercise assertiveness. Here are some examples of positive affirmations of self-confidence:

I choose to believe that I am confident
I have confidence in and value myself
I am confident in my abilities
I give up my limiting beliefs and choose to trust myself.

Friend, confidence is sexy.
If you desire having the man or woman of your choice, irrespective of all important factors, confidence is Key.

Ask men who decided to climb mountains, cover distances just for that girl 🤣🤣🤣

Are there times that as ladies you gather and talk about that guy who isn't really handsome but you all like him while some are"dying" for him?
Look closely!
It's because he's very confident of himself,takes good steps and probably dresses nicely.

Run with what you can from this write up and get your entire life metamorphosed.

"She almost stole my love"

The Beginning

Mr.& Mrs. Adams lived a very quiet life in the rich city of Port Harcourt. They lived in one bedroom apartment since that was what they could afford.

Mr. Adams is from the western part of Nigeria while Julie, his wife is from the Eastern part.

They just got married and were deeply in love with each other. Mr. Adams(Femi) never went anywhere without informing his wife ( Julie). Their connection was so tight that friends envied them and wished they could have such a relationship.

Mr. Adams was an upcoming business man while his wife was a primary school Teacher. They were content with all they had and always had an outing on weekends.

One evening,Mr. Adams came back home informing his wife that a relative needed him to help train their daughter in the University. The wife said it is a welcome idea though she wouldn't want the young girl staying in their house since their marriage was barely 6 months old.

Femi convinced his wife that she would still be the Queen of his life and their home.
Julie wasn't satisfied but didn't want any misunderstanding with her husband so, grudgingly accepted.

The next day at about 8pm, a very beautiful young lady with long hair arrived their residence with two sack bags of clothes.

Julie assessed the girl with her eyes to the discomfort of the young lady but asked her name. The young lady responded saying,she was Funke.

Funke was well-shaped, chocolate skinned with bulky eyes and long beautiful legs.
She actually looked prettier than Mrs Julie Adams and it drove her to jealousy.

Mrs. Adams wished she never accepted the plea of a girl staying in her house but she had no choice but to let her be.

Mr. Adams came back at 9pm and met Funke(the young lady) taking her dinner. He thanked his wife and welcomed Funke, asking questions about her choice of University and course.

After about 30 minutes, he went back to his wife who was fuming since her husband gave Funke 30 minutes of his time which would had been hers.
Femi was upset at his wife's attitude and reminded her that she's still the queen of his life.

The issue was resolved and they had a great time in their bedroom and slept. The next day, everything went on nicely.

After one month, Julie noticed that her husband was secretly stealing to look at Funke anytime she passed by. She was quiet and decided to watch events unfold.

Her husband who always looked forward to their time out and relaxation together started complaining that he needed rest at home.
Hmmm!
She thought to herself and decided to go out alone on a certain day just to confirm her suspicions.

Fifteen minutes later, she came back home, opened the door with her keys quietly, making her way to the room only to see something strange.

Femi was shocked to see his wife home, embarrassed and knelt down apologizing.

Funke was half-naked, already trying to pull down her un**es before Mrs. Julie came in. Mr. Femi was putting on boxers only without shirt and below was already elongated and ready for action.

At that juncture, Funke was sent back to the village because she almost stole the Love of Julie's life.

Julie was hurt but grateful for following her intuition on checking on her husband.

Mr..& Mrs. Adams decided to live together without strangers or relatives again.
Mrs. Adams said to her husband,'she almost stole my love ". They laughed and had a great time in the bedroom.

Right now, Mrs. Julie is heavily pregnant and Femi is very excited that he'd be a father soon.

Mr. Adams had a big break in business and moved to a better environment with a room for the expected child.

It seemed like the baby was waiting for such a time as this and "gbam", Julie was delivered of a baby boy.

The baby boy was named Funsho and the Adams were even happier and more in love than at the beginning.

Self- Connfidence is a feeling of trust in one's capacities, rates and judgement. It means you have a strong belief in yourself and a hold of your life. You know your strengths and frailties completely as well as have a great perspective of yourself

Irrespective of your educational status, when you are self-confident, you can sweep the best man or woman off his/her feet. That's the verity!

I mean, you believe in yourself and capacities, not smirching yourself irrespective of your shortcomings but putting to the full light of anyone that cares, your strength. This does not mean that you should neglect the weaknesses. The weaknesses are being worked on but the strength is concentrated on.

Imagine a lady who might not be veritably beautiful in the description of men yet she's extremely sure of herself and whatever she puts on the table wherever she's set up.

Men love such ladies because they know their onus and would make great homes, making great opinions indeed in their misters' absence.
