Mr. Sunday Anuoluwapo Ajayi will be live at Jogor School Of Music JOSOM Carol Concert coming up on the 19th of Dec, 2023 at Felicia Hall of Jogor centre Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

Here's Abit about the great man Sunday Anuoluwapo Ajayi ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Sunday Anuoluwapo Ajayi is a trained pianist/organist and a composer. He holds an OND in music technology from The Polytechnic Ibadan, Nigeria, and graduated as an organ performance major under the tutelage of the Late Dr. Christopher Ayodele. He holds a BA in music from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, as a piano performance major under the tutelage of Prof. O. M. A. Daramola. He has also obtained an MA in Music Theory and Composition from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Ajayi started his musicianship as a choirboy at Jehovah Nissi African Church Cathedral, Araromi, Ilesa, Nigeria. Being a son of a priest (Ven. P. B. A. Ajayi Rtd.) of the African Church offered him the rare privilege of developing exceptional abilities in church music making, and he ended up studying music at a professional level.As a composer, Sunday has studied several works of some great Western and African composers like J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, F. Chopin, Claude Debussy, Ayo Bankole, Joshua Uzoigwe, Ayo Oluranti, โ€˜Seun Owoaje and Dotun Olayemi to mention but a few. He has been able to compose and arrange several choral and instrumental works. Some of his musical works are Were Lo Ba Mi Se for SATB; Omo To De Baba Ni for Tenor Solo; We Need You Lord for SATB and Organ; Alasepe for SATB and Organ; Eru O Bami for SATB and Organ; Seโ€˜fe Tire for Solo/Chorus and Organ; Jesu Mi Jinde for Solo/Chorus, Piano and Organ; Oluwa Ku Ise in F Sharp Minor for Piano; Olurombi in G Major for Piano and African Instruments; etc.Sunday Ajayi is currently a Junior Art Fellow at the Department of Performing Arts (Music Unit), Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria. He is also the Technical Director of The Nightingales Int'l Ibadan, and the Organist of the Cathedral of St James the Great, Oke-Bola, Ibadan. He is happily married to Oluwaseun Mercy Ajayi, and the union is blessed with two handsome boys.

A musicologist par excellence! As a student in the Music Dept. of University of Ife(now OAU) in the 80s, he was the conductor of three musical groups; Terra Choral, Ayoro Voices and the Association of Music Students' Band(AMUS Band) with superlative performances. After his NYSC at Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri, he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Oyo State College of Education, Ilesa at the same time appointed as the Organist of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Omofe in Ilesa. He found his own Choral Group- Nightingales International in Ilesa in 1987, now still waxing strong at his current base in Ibadan. He is currently the Chairman of the Moderators of Music Subject of both WAEC and NECO examination bodies. Also, a Member of the Board of Trustees of Nigeria Guild of Organists and by God's grace the current Choirmaster- General of the Blood of Jesus Apostolic Church International, with Headquarters at Oke Anu in Ibadan. He retired recently from University of Lagos.
He's worthy of celebration today as he attains a new year in his hither-to fruitful life. Congratulations Sir - Rev. Yemi Akinpelu! May God strengthen you more as you continue to proclaim His glory through your endowed musical talent.
