SPEAKER #3 ON THE DECOLONIAL REPARATIONS CONFERENCE 2025: Alejandra Slutzky!♥️✊🏾
______________
We are thrilled to announce that Alejandra Slutzky will be speaking at the Decolonial Reparations Conference 2025 in Amsterdam, organized by Aralez.
Alejandra is a powerful voice for justice and human rights, and her story is one of resilience and determination. As a political refugee from Argentina, she carries the painful history of her family’s suffering under the brutal US-backed Videla dictatorship. Her parents, along with many members of her family, were disappeared during this period of state terror, and Alejandra’s personal journey is one that reflects the anguish of this dark chapter in history.
Despite these immense challenges, Alejandra has dedicated her life to advocating for the victims of this regime and other dictatorships in Latin America. She is one of the founders of H.I.J.O.S. Netherlands, an important organization that supports the children of the disappeared in Latin America, giving them a platform to seek justice, healing, and acknowledgment. This international movement stands for the dignity of those whose loved ones were forcibly disappeared, as well as the ongoing struggle for truth, justice, and reparations.
Beyond her work with H.I.J.O.S., Alejandra is an author and an anti-racist organizer with the Platform Stop Racisme en Fascisme in the Netherlands. Her activism is grounded in the belief that combating racism and fascism is essential to creating a just world.
We are incredibly honored to have Alejandra speak at the Decolonial Reparations Conference 2025, where she will bring her unique perspective on decolonization, reparations, and the long-lasting effects of state violence on marginalized communities. Her insights into the intersections of colonialism, racism, and justice will be invaluable in pushing forward the global dialogue around reparations and healing.
