TOEKOMSTMUZIEK

ToekomstMuziek is a new venue in Amsterdam, that opened its doors this summer. We love to tell you more about it, and what's better than hearing it from the owner himself?

"How the idea behind Toekomstmuziek started? I'm a musician and together with my band back then, we noticed how hard it was to find places to perform, and to connect to and get in touch with other musicians and bands. A cultural home at which people could show and hone their craft and enjoy other people's art and music at the same time. At first and for a long time we were so frustrated about that, but then about 5 years ago, we sat down and thought: "let's just make such a place ourselves!". The idea was to create a place where art, culture, music, food, drinks and people would come together, but not only to enjoy those individual elements and themselves, but especially to enjoy each other and to connect with one another, even though having completely different backgrounds, on a deeper emotional level. So, we started sketching and the rest is history:-)"

Cool Tiger creates postmodern rhythmic music at the intersection of club and experimental music. He has carved out a unique sound since his debut in 2014, ranging from polyrhythmic patterns, repeating vocals to powerful techno weapons.

With a deep understanding of tension and release, Cool Tiger positioned himself as a key musician in the Amsterdam underground scene. On the one hand, with his tight-knit label Junction Records he promotes innovative music endeavours; on the other, with his Unknown Electronics collective he fosters live electronic music of diverse backgrounds and genres. His own live performances reflect his tribal explorations and forward-thinking tribulations.

With monthly events at Amsterdam’s Radion and OT301 venues and with a constant stream of innovative releases on Junction Records, Lobster Theremin and Berlin’s MOTZ, it is not surprising that he is receiving support from a wide range of DJs and that his upcoming releases are being served with a healthy dose of anticipation.

Jydn's career and attitude towards life has seen him travel, reside, run parties and play shows as well as work/network within the industry abroad - bouncing back and forth between Australia and Europe for numerous years chasing the summer with gigs landed in Ibiza, Berlin, Amsterdam and Portugal alongside many parties and outdoor music festivals around Australia.

Being co-founder of Melbourne based Recovery Collective has enabled him to pave the path and create opportunities for many other upcoming and emerging artists, firmly showing his dedication to the industry and willingness to explore new avenues for himself and other artists, to push and achieve their maximum potential within their careers.

His musical style varies with energy levels depending on the situation and dance floor at hand, everything from downtempo and instrumental sounds through a platter of house, techno and breaks. His own productions have also gained some immense support from legends such as Sasha, Above&Beyond, Robert Babicz, James Monro, Edu Imbernon, Guy Mantzur, Soul Button, Petar Dundov, Boss Axis and many more.

Tactfully blurring the line between chaos & order, WISER has torn down any expectations of how things should be done, carving her own winding path in Naarm (Melbourne, Aus) and beyond with her attention to detail, devious curation & unique performance style. A purveyor of good feelings, but selector of the darker shades of electronic music means a true WISER set can take you anywhere: from raw & unrelenting soundscapes shared in the smokiest of basements to goosebump inducing festival performances - always leaving the dance floor energised, inspired and wanting more.

Her usually genre-defying productions show a slightly softer side; melancholic, nostalgic though timeless - capturing the imagination of strangers & the attention of some of the biggest acts around the globe, many of whom she has supported across the country.

No stranger to a good time, with a strong desire to connect and support the already thriving local dance music community - WISER created DAZED HDT (Hard Dance Therapy) a heartfelt 135bpm+ rave where pushing the boundaries of personal taste is encouraged, with patrons and artists following one strict rule: ‘Do everything with kindness.’

Recently teaming up with Thick as Thieves to invent a debaucherous party and touring brand ‘Rascal!!’ & invited to curate an ongoing event series at the infamous Revolver Upstairs, alongside features in Beat Magazine, Form Mag & a peak time guest mix for Triple J; WISER looks to the horizon with a calm knowing, that you can’t have dark without light… & the future is looking brighter than ever.

After a string of showcases in Lagos & Portugal, Collusion will mark the fifth event of the Recovery Collective 2022 Europe tour. We look forward to being back in Amsterdam again for the first time in 3 years.

Our intentions with these tours has always been to create new and likeminded connections with other collectives, promoters and venues that align with the same collaborative community values – along with being able to provide opportunities for Australian artists to showcase their sound and perform to new audiences.

Equipped with a creative visionary and an aim for providing a fresh educational vehicle within the electronic music community, Recovery Collective has grown to become one of Australia’s leading record labels and publishing platforms to showcase upcoming & emerging talent.

Since the labels inception back in 2014, Recovery Collective has put out 120 releases from over 100 local and international producers, has worked with most of the countries leading festivals and has hosted shows with many artists such as Enrico Sanguiliano, Alex Stein, Thomas Schumacher, Luigi Madonna, Nakadia, Maksim Dark, Raxon, Phil Kieran, Undercatt, Extrawelt, Township Rebellion, Oliver Koletzki, Dnox, BOg, Solee, Drunken Kong, Max Cooper and many more.
