❤️ and friendship captured in a moment of joy!
That’s exactly how I felt when and Mario walked up to the 🚲at the market yesterday!
Tucho and I have shared moments of sheer pain and joy together! From training for marathons 7 years ago to him and Mario being there for events! Whether it was delivering food during the lockdown to catching up here and there because we all live busy lives, it’s the hugs and kisses we shared when we met that spark joy in my soul
Thank you to you kind souls for coming by yesterday! I love that we all love 🐈🐈 too ❤️

Why is the tagline for Ishu Eats “food from the heart”?
Because food is meant to nourish you, food is meant to give you energy, food is supposed to connect you to those who make it for you
We come from a world where led kitchen and cooked for others. She taught me what it means to feed people. Cooking is easy. You understand heat, you understand some basics, and it’s hard to mess things up
But what does it mean to feed people? That’s a whole different game altogether. Luckily our game has its roots with where I learned that feeding others with love makes the food taste better
This whole joyride is about making you feel like you’ve eaten food that’s cooked responsibly, but more importantly, with love
There’s a lot of time, effort and energy spent by people like Mareis, Bodo, Arjan and Tante Ourda in fine tuning their craft to be farmers, bakers, and butchers. The least I as a cook can do is give their delicious produce some love
We’ve got a very chaat-filled weekend lined up for you this coming week! And we cannot wait to feed you
Dinner tonight was some paneer and daslook cooked with a few spices in ghee. Some okra and onions cooked in olive oil. And some daal with pastinaak and purslane

The community at the market
The last few weeks have been proof for ourselves that it’s totally possible to love what you do, and enjoy it, make money, and most importantly, make others happy with what you’re doing
In all of this, it isn’t lost on us on how important our role is in providing a space for others to come and enjoy themselves with our delicious food and drink. We’ve got some very exciting news regarding this soon
The next few weeks are going to set the foundation for the coming year and I personally can’t be more excited
A lot of things have gone loco. I can sit here for hours and moan about what didn’t work out. But this paragraph is enough 🙃
What’s better is the number of things that have worked out
Better than ever, we now know some of you by first name basis because we meet each other at least once a week, and the bonding is special
In short - we are very thankful to each and every single one of you. For sharing with your friends on social to spreading the word on the street and of course for giving our little venture a shot
We’re shooting for the moon with our ambitions, and we’re going to build it together with all of you :)

Festivals bring up memories of sitting around with family and friends having some of the most delicious food and drink! Diwali was something we celebrated at home (among a lot of other festivals) and had many traditions with it ☀️
Since we’re all spread around the world, best way to celebrate it is with friends and family here in 🇳🇱

Each time you stop by the market to get yourself some paratha wraps or laddus, order your Thali online and pick it up at or have it delivered at home by Cemal - the one consistent element is how the food is prepared
We try and replicate what would do as you’d sit across the table at home. It’s actually that simple ❤️
We’re back at the market tomorrow and are looking forward to seeing all of there! The Friday market in Den Bosch has a vibe of its own
Oh and not to forget, you can still order your Thali boxes till midnight tomorrow!

☀️☀️ days ahead and a quick update
In the center of Den Bosch, you’ve currently got Kermis going on, and that means that most vendors aren’t at the market — this week, we will not be serving you food
We’re taking the opportunity during this semi-break to look back at the past few weeks and reflect upon how they went; what worked, and where we can make changes to give you a more delicious experience
A 🦜 tell me that something exciting launches in September. It’s going to be 🥰! Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days

Celebrating ❤️
Yesterday we had a wonderful time bringing together some deliciousness for the anniversary of close friends ; and .no.va
Because it was an anniversary - we decided it was best to follow what I consider to be stand out dishes at a north-Indian style wedding (there are a lot more, but we kept it simple)
There was daal makhni, kadhai paneer, baingan bharta (because 🍆 is a favorite veggie for the two lovebirds), and mutter pulao
We also had a twist on a samosa that brought together 🇳🇱 broodjes with Indian flavors. And there were laddus - coconut and motichoor laddus
Everything made with the best quality ingredients available from local farmers. Made with love and care, and most importantly for others to enjoy

Nankhatai or a vegan cardamom shortbread like cookie is on the menu today
A mixture of different flours (semolina, chickpea, and wheat) gives this unique cookie a sandy texture but with lots of cardamom and sugar mixed in. We decided to add some chia seeds for more bite and visual attraction
Fun fact - most Nankhatai sold in India are made on the street-side ovens that vendors carry on their carts

Meet Tante Ourda . . She’s a lovely human and I cannot wait for all of you to try out the parathas she’s going to make. Not only the masala parathas with our homemade spice mix, but also the aloo parathas! . . I was making the parathas with her this morning and I realized how much of what I do is me trying to go back to my childhood and live those memories . . Our food is deeply connected to nostalgia. Somehow that’s where it’s different in my opinion . . Before I get too emotional - I want you to know this is our last thali from our home kitchen. We’re still going to do food related stuff and make people happy, just not from our home kitchen . . Weekend Thali . . I have recently started working with Mohammed who’s new in the kitchen. Dude doesn’t know much about cooking, but like me, he’s super curious and interested in learning. For the past week and a half that we’ve been working together, I’ve been making him taste all the spices and the tadkas and the dishes and that chaat and the drinks. I want him to know why I do something . . And today, he’s asked for the thali to be his lunch. That is the best way I could have started the morning . . The parathas are being made. The daal is done, the rice is done. That chaat is ready to go. The drinks are made.
