So folks....as promised, here it is! 🥳

I've been postponing posting this last recorded Ecstatic Dance set of mine here on Facebook, which was due to other obligations and taking time to rest and enjoy high quality moments with family and dear friends of mine. 😊

Nevertheless, you now finally have the chance to enjoy this last Ecstatic Dance creation of mine, which is the set I played in the lovely chapel/church on the border of Leiden & Oestgeest in the Netherlands.

Hello folks! 😉

Here's a bit of a last moment reminder for this coming weekend, where I'll have the honor of playing for Ecstatic Dance Emmen in the north of the Netherlands and which I'm really looking forward to.

It will be my 1st appearance under my new DJ name as DJ Sonic Sculptor, which of course is somehow something I'm not used to yet, but I'm sure the name will settle in over time.

Last november I played my last gig under the name DJ Shawnodese, a name I was honored to carry for many years since 1996 and has brought me incredible joy and many unforgettable adventures. 🥳

I totally forgot to post about it, but Ecstatic Dance Leiden was a blast on the 29th of November 2024 and which was a truly worthy saying goodbye to about two decades playing under my old name DJ Shawnodese! 🥳

The beautiful church was the perfect place for another celebration of life with lots of lovely and amazing people experiencing the magic of truly connecting with each other, which dancing their t**s off during my set.

I have recorded my DJ-set and will add the link in my next post somewhere the coming days, so stay tuned for that! 🤩

For those who are living in the North of the Netherlands or close to the Dutch-German border, I will be playing soon again, which is on the 18th of January for Ecstatic Dance Emmen.

This time it will be under my new name, DJ Sonic Sculptor and I am really looking forward to see you there!

And remember, keep dancing and celebrating life...no matter what happens! 💃🕺

Hello dear friends, fans and music lovers...😍

I have some news in regards to my DJ story/career. It is the most radical thing I did over the past more or less 20-25 years and is about changing my DJ name.

Many of you have known me for about quarter of a century as DJ Shawnodese and those days have finally come to an end. I have experienced truly glorious years under this name and will never forget the beauty and amazing times I was allowed to experience. Those days are forever etched in the depths of my heart and are felt with immense gratitude.

For quite some time, the name didn't feel appropriate anymore though and felt as if the name of this magical Spirit keeper of the South (according the the Medicine Wheel of the Sun Bear Tribe) pushed me to let go of this name. I somehow got too attached to the name and the success I experienced during all those years and am clearly invited to let go of all of that and embrace a new path in my life.

The cycle feels completed and knowing and specially sensing this for some time already, I was kind of feeling puzzled which name to chose next. Somehow though, as soon as I decided I would take and invite in another name, it came to me in no time and the name rang very clearly in my head.

DJ Sonic Sculptor...

I could immediately feel the truth and power which these words embody and how they describe a very typical feeling I experience during my DJ sets. I truly feel like a sculptor building and crafting beautiful and majestic musical landscapes. How all those different musical masterpieces of art get sculpted by and through me and I somehow miraculously manage to craft all sorts of sonic soundscapes, once truly being in touch with the essence of who I am and from where the boundless love for music, life, dancing and movement automatically flows forward.

Yes, I feel very content with this new name and even dreamt about it the night after it came to me. I could feel the solidity and resonance with this name deep in my dream and body after waking up.

I will still play one last 'goodbye' gig under the name DJ Shawnodese, which will be this coming Friday in one of the oldest cities of the Netherlands, which is Leiden. For those of you who would like to join, I will post the event info here during the coming days.

My most sincere apologies to so many of you out there that have been waiting for ages for some Ecstatic Dance DJ-sets I played last year, but never uploaded here on my Soundcloud page., so my apologies for the long wait.🙏

This past year has been incredibly beautiful, but also very challenging, including a new job, diving deep in healing personal trauma through therapy and well...of course there's the general madness of the world on top of it all. It most surely wasn't my best year, but I'm managing to get myself back together, am slowly stepping back behind the DJ-decks again and here's a 1st tangible result of doing so. 💪😁

So, here it is, finaaaaaaaally another upload and it was about frikkin' time right? 🤪

This is a homebrew version of a set from last year I once more played up north in my old hometown Groningen, which is up north in the Netherlands. Unfortunately the recording went to sh*ts at the time, so here's a slightly altered version of it. I hope you fabulous freestyle frolicking freaks & freggels dig it somehow and dance till dawn on it! 💃🕺

Oh yes, how I loved those magic days before CD's and digital downloads and streaming hit the market! 🥳

All those hours, days, weeks, months and years I used to spend in record shops allover the Netherlands, Europe and outside of Europe whenever I was playing around as a DJ on other continents.

Yes, those days were magic and specially during the weekends when tons of DJ's and artists gathered in the record shops. 🤩

I feel glad I've witnessed those days, which all the younger generations missed. Days I will never forget and probably some of you will remember with a big smirk on your face as well. 😁

ECSTATIC DANCE WITH DJ SHAWNODESE @ 'DE LAURENTIUSKERK' - WEESP [25-06-2023] 🥳

I don't have a lot of words for this truly magic and amazing experience of playing at one of the most beautiful locations in the Netherlands and for one of the sweetest most lovely crews I met thus far.

And the dancers? They just totally went for it without any limit and it was such a wonderful thing to watch and to receive so much appreciation and so many compliments.

I can most definitely advise you to go visit this magic yoga studio (Yoga Today), which is organizing an Ecstatic Dance every last Friday of the month on this fabulous location.

And for the rest I feel the picture speak for themselves. 😉

DJ SHAWNODESE @ 'LACH JE WAKKER & EGGSTATIC' - 'ECOGEBOUW' - BUNNIK [26-05-2023 + 02-07-2023]

I totally forgot to drop this one here, but wanted to share it anyway, as this was such a fun and truly hilarious event. 😜

We started together with my good friend Marnix Lamers, who facilitated a workshop for our crew and our guests and did so in the form a laughter workshop. We almost literally fell of our chairs and had some serious stomach and belly aches & issues due to not being able to stop laughing about the most ridiculous things and even about absolutely nothing.🤪😂😆

After we had a shoft break and it was my chance to do my thing and show what being a happy Easter Egg was all about at this special Easter Eggstatic Dance. 🐣

The combination of laughing our asses to bits & pieces and dancing them once more into smithereens wil always make me remember this day as a very happy and joyful experience and it's something I most definitely advise you all to try-out sometime.

There will be 2 more editions for which I have added the other flyers as well and this will be on June the 16th with DJ Shivanne and on July the 2nd, which will be another chance for me to show my Eggstatic magic. In case you are considering coming, be sure it will most definitely leave a seriously happy and hilarious impression! 😁

I hope to see you on one of those 2 fabulous events and am looking forward to once more be your musical and dancing puppetmaster. 💃🕺
