This page has been ‘sleeping’ the past two years, since I moved back from the USA and have no active photo project going. Currently I keep myself busy with my own freelance company Liz van Woerden - Communication & Promotion and just life in general 😅

Such nice horses today at the Gelders horse studbook inspection! 🤩 Pippa-Baringa was one of my favorites. What a stunning horse. What's extra nice is that I photographed her beautiful mother Baringa for my Krachtpatsers photo project in 2018. You can find her photo album on this page.

I have made videos of almost all the horses and will make another compilation for Gelderse Paarden.

Wat een gave paarden vandaag op de stamboek keuring Gelders paard! 🤩 Pippa- Baringa was een van mijn favorieten. Wat een plaatje. Extra leuk is dat ik haar mooie moeder Baringa nog gefotografeerd heb voor mijn Krachtpatsers foto project in 2018. Je kunt haar foto album vinden op deze pagina.

Ik heb van bijna alle paarden video’s gemaakt en zal weer een compilatie maken voor Gelderse Paarden.

De Gelderse richting heeft er twee stoere nieuwe geselecteerde hengsten bij: Parodie (Alexandro P x Victory) en Primus B (Lanto HBC x Rubus B )!! Ze zijn tijdens de Stallion Show afgelopen weekend uitgenodigd voor het KWPN verrichtingsonderzoek en Parodie ontving tevens een premie. Geniet onder het genot van wat ruige rock van deze ruige bok 😜: Parodie!

The Gelders breeding direction has two cool new selected stallions: Parodie (Alexandro P x Victory) and Primus B (Lanto HBC x Rubus B )!! They were invited for the KWPN performance test during the Stallion Show last weekend. Enjoy the Premium powerhouse Parodie in this video!

Took this video of Souverein aka ‘Zoef’ today, the Gelders c**t that my friend Linda van der Kooi- Reitsma of Dierbaar sieraad bred this year by Alexandro P. out of her Vaandrager mare Brenda. He is such a cool dude!! 😎🤩

Echte Krachtpatser!! De 2 jarige KWPN-NA hengst Pharaoh DG v. Koning DG (Bordeaux x Jazz). Zijn moeder is de naar de USA geëxporteerde Gelderse merrie Janda (v. Parcival x Sirius). Pharaoh behaalde 90/90 op de KWPN - NA keuring in Californië dit najaar. Hij is gefokt en in eigendom van DG Bar Ranch.

Powerhouse alert!! Young Dutch Warmblood stallion Pharaoh DG by Koning DG (Bordeaux x Jazz). His dam is Janda, a Gelders mare by Parcival x Sirius. She was imported to the USA from the Netherlands. Pharaoh is 2 years old now and bred and owned by DG Bar Ranch. He obtained the impressive score of 90 for conformation and 90 for movement at the KWPN-NA inspection tour this fall in California.

About 4,5 years ago, Herman was my first ‘model’ for the photo project I did about Gelders horses. This FB page is a result of this project: you can find all the stories and pictures of the Gelders horses I visited in both the Netherlands and North America the past years here.

The projects are finished now, so the page is not as active as it was during the projects. This coming year, I will add the last stories of visits I did in the USA for the project. After that, I will keep the page so everyone can still read the stories and enjoy the pictures.

Krachtpatsers begon 4,5 jaar geleden: een foto project om Gelderse (en een paar Groninger) paarden te fotograferen en hun verhaal vast te leggen. Toen ik naar Amerika verhuisde, heb ik daar nog een mini versie van het project gedaan. Er komen nog een paar verhalen en foto’s van de laatste bezoeken die ik daar gedaan heb op de pagina.

De projecten zijn afgerond dus pagina is niet meer zo actief als voorheen. Ik zal hem echter wel bewaren zodat iedereen de verhalen en foto’s nog kan blijven bekijken.

Hieronder zie je Herman, de eerste Krachtpatser van het project. Linda brengt hem inmiddels uit in het ZZ licht en is aan het spelen met de piaffe en passage. Echt een perfect voorbeeld van een stoere Gelderse alleskunner!

In 2018, I’ve started a project to promote Gelders horses in the Netherlands. I called it ‘Krachtpatsers’, because that’s what I think a Gelders horse is. A ‘powerhouse’: a horse with a strong body, bone, substance, good hoofs, strong legs, a broad loin connection, an impressive front and going around with presence, posture, pride, elegance. The Gelders or Gelderlander horse is officially recognized as a rare breed in the Netherlands.

In my project I drove around to visit and photograph over 40 Gelders (and also some Groninger) horses. When I moved to the USA, I repeated this project in a smaller form, and visited several Gelders horses all over North America. You can read about both projects on the page ‘Krachtpatsers’. Although the projects have finished, the page does still have all the stories and many beautiful pictures of this foundation breed of the modern Dutch Warmblood.

📸 Depicted here is Pytron’s Herman, the first Gelders horse I photographed in 2018. He is now scoring good points at 4th level and training for the upper levels.

Zo leuk, om updates te ontvangen over Krachtpatsers die aan het foto project hebben meegedaan in 2018! Zoals over Fiolette en haar dochter Rozette (Delviro HBC x Nando x Walser x Kroonprins). Fiolette heb ik op de foto gezet bij Hannes Gerrits in Hilversum, waarna ik nog een mooie rit door het Lage Vuursche bos kreeg op de wagen met zijn andere twee zwartblessen Elvis en Dromwalz. So fun to get updates from the models I photographed in 2018 during my ‘Powerhouse project’. Like this beauty Rozette (Delviro HBC x Nando x Walser x Kroonprins), a 2020 daughter of Fiolette, who I photographed at Hannes a Gerrits in Hilversum. I got a ride through the forest with him and his other horses afterwards, which was so fun!

Met de afloop van het keuringsseizoen kijk ik nog eens naar deze gave foto, waarin Harm Bruil met Krachtpatser Jansje MB (v. Floris BS x Fortissimo x Droomwals) over het harde vliegt tijdens de stamboekkeuring in 2018. Jansje, gefokt en in eigendom van Margreet Nauta-van Den Brul, werd later bekroond als Nationaal Kampioen van de 4 tm 7 jarige Gelderse merries op het NMK. 🥇😍💪

With the inspection season coming to an end, I look back at an awesome picture I took of Powerhouse model Jansje MB (v. Floris BS x Fortissimo x Droomwals), who 'flew' over the asphalt at the studbook keuring Gelders horse in 2018 with handler Harm Bruil. Jansje, bred and owned by Margreet Nauta- van den Brul, later became KWPN National Champion of the 4-7 yo Gelders mares. 🥇😍💪

Terwijl ik in Nederland was, ben ik bij Hengstenhouderij en Trainingsstal Marcel van Bruggen langs geweest om een filmpje te maken over voorbereidingen voor een keuring. Ook het voorbrengen wordt uitgebreid uitgelegd.

Het filmpje was bedoeld voor de leden van het KWPN-NA, maar is met de stoere Gelderse Krachtpatsers (waaronder Kampioens merrie Miss Montreal v. Edmundo x Fabricius) die erin worden getoond, voor elke paardenliefhebber leuk om te kijken!

When I was in the Netherlands, I visited Hengstenhouderij en Trainingsstal Marcel van Bruggen to make an educational video for everyone that is going to a Keuring for the first time: “PREPARING FOR A KEURING”.

Marcel and his team showed me all the tips and tricks for preparing and handling. Although this video was made for the KWPN-NA members, it's very fun to watch for anybody, especially if you're preparing to go to a (virtual) Keuring for the first time.

Fun detail: his Powerhouse mare Miss Montreal, who is the star of the video, won the Champion title of the 4-7 yo Gelders mares at the National Mare Keuring in The Netherlands yesterday!

Behalve de stoere Herman, heeft Linda Van Der Kooi Reitsma sinds kort ook nog een 15 jarige indrukwekkende Gelderse ster merrie op stal staan. Brenda is haar naam, haar vader is Vaandrager en ze is hopelijk drachtig van Alexandro P. 🤞

Besides her powerhouse Herman, of which I shared pictures last week, Linda also has a Gelders ster mare. She is ment to be her broodmare but she rides her to keep her fit as well. Hopefully, she'll be scanned in foal to Alexandro P. soon!

Vorig weekend ben ik bij mijn vriendin Linda Van Der Kooi Reitsma langsgeweest, en heb natuurlijk ook even foto's van haar Krachtpatser Herman (Laurentz x Larix x Indiaan) gemaakt. Hij was de eerste die ik fotografeerde voor het project in 2018! Inmiddels is hij flink uitgezwaard en bespierd, en kent zelfs al oefeningen van de Grand Prix dressuur. Na een break van 10 weken klom Linda er weer eens op voor deze foto's, wat enorm genieten was voor mij. Altijd heerlijk zo'n stoer type als Herman te mogen bewonderen!

Last week, I visited my friend Linda, and took pictures of her powerhouse Herman. He was also the first model for the Krachtpatsers photo project in 2018. In the mean time, he got a lot bigger and stronger and knows some exercises of the Grand Prix dressage now. After a 10 week break, Linda got on him again and showed me some things he could do. How wonderful that I could enjoy that!

Na een lange tijd in Amerika ben ik eindelijk weer eens op Nederlandse bodem. De kans om dan een keuring van de Gelderse paarden bij te wonen, laat ik dan natuurlijk niet aan me voorbij gaan!

Deze prachtige Krachtpatsers zijn de merries die gepresenteerd zijn tijdens de Stamboekkeuring Gelders paard afgelopen zaterdag in Ermelo. Ik heb van bijna alle paarden foto’s kunnen maken. Van de meeste paarden heb ik meer dan twee foto’s gemaakt, stuur me hiervoor gerust een mailtje, evenals voor nabestellingen in groot formaat.

Ik zal de afstamming nog toevoegen en ik zal zaterdag de 24e ook op de Dag van het Gelders paard aanwezig zijn!

After three years absence, I am visiting my homeland again for 5 weeks. Last Saturday, I went to the KWPN Gelders Studbook keuring to watch the Gelders powerhouses that were inspected there, and took many pictures. I will add their pedigrees too. Enjoy watching these beautiful mares!

Ik ontving een heel leuk berichtje via Francien Coppens van Hannes uit Hilversum. Fiolette (v. Nando), de stoere merrie van wie ik tijdens het Krachtpatsers project in 2018 foto’s hebt gemaakt, is 22 mei bevallen van een super mooi merrie veulentje. “Ze heeft een bles en vier witte beentjes. Ze heet Rozette en afstamming is Delviro HBC x Nando x Walser x Kroonprins.” Van harte gefeliciteerd met dit prinsesje Hannes!

I received a nice message about Fiolette, the Nando daughter I took pictures of during the 2018 Krachtpatsers photo project. She gave birth to a beautiful filly by Delviro HBC in May, black with four whites and a blaze. Congratulations Hannes!
