Since 1998 we have danced, made friends, got to know more about African music and made mostly beautiful memories together. We have also shared some of those memories here on Facebook so that others could enjoy a bit of the fun we had at each Africa Night. But now we believe it is time to start the process of house cleaning. We will be deleting all pictures in the group and on the Africa Night page. We are doing this because we know it is the right thing to do. It is also because of reasons of privacy. The pictures are just lying there redundantly anyway. The memories will stay with us forever. But now the house cleaning is about to begin. Thank you for your understanding! 🥰

I found it! The emotional letter I wrote to the mayor of Tilburg in 1997 which resulted in me starting Africa Night in 1998. I never got a reply! Not from him and not from the other 4 organisations that I copied! You should read it and decide if a lot has changed since then. I don't really think so!

There was 1 person there last Saturday who has consistently been there from the first ever Africa Night in Tilburg in May 1998! It is an unbelievable level of love and dedication. There were also a couple of people there who joined Africa Night a year later in 1999! When did you discover Africa Night? Actually some of you have been in all of those places with us! 🥰

We had a sold-out, very beautiful Africa Night on 14 September 2024. Beautiful people, beautiful vibes. However due to circumstances beyond our control, we were only able to make a few pictures and a couple of videos! (I started late with the pictures, the camera was misbehaving at the beginning and when some people started abusing the photographer as usual, I remembered one of the reasons for stopping with Africa Night. So I stopped taking pictures! That felt good!) 😂😂

For me, I am going to enjoy m Africa Night retirement now. Please don't call, text or mail me any more about Africa Night. If you run into me, talk about the weather, s*x, car, politics or whatever. BUT DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT ORGANISING AN AFRICA NIGHT! I no longer live in The Netherlands. I live in Tanzania now enjoying the African sun with both feet on the table!
