Life has a funny way of surprising us! 🌟

I was all set for the big day—groceries ordered, baby outfits color-coordinated with mine, and plans with the babysitter sorted. But baby Owen Titus Lake had other plans!

An emergency C-section brought our little one into the world within two hours. Instead of my perfect plan, we had groceries arriving the next day, kids with their grandparents, and Owen in lost and found clothes! 🙊😂

Things didn’t go as planned, but they turned out even better. Just like weddings, sometimes the unexpected creates the most beautiful moments. 💕

Now, I’m soaking up precious time with my new family of 5. Can’t wait to get back to planning your dream weddings in October! ✨

Embracing Timeless Love and Togetherness 🌟

“What are the upcoming wedding trends?” Yesterday, someone asked me this question, and I couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed. It’s the most uncreative inquiry you can pose to a wedding planner, it’s far from compelling. 🙊🙀

Why?

Because for me, it’s all about the essence of your love story. Your wedding should be a reflection of who you are, not just following fleeting trends. Investing in something timeless ensures that when you look back at your wedding photos 20 years from now, you still see yourselves shining through.

Forget about what’s trending on Pinterest and Instagram... you’re already behind. As wedding creatives, we’re ahead of the curve, often creating inspiration that takes years to reach the mainstream.

At the end of the day, it’s about what speaks to you. I meet couples every day who adore something that’s considered ‘out of style’. And who cares? Your wedding should be a celebration of your unique love.

For me, the answer to the trend question is simple: togetherness. It’s the shift I’m seeing – from extravagant displays to intimate celebrations of love, family, and friendship. Take the couple in the photo, for example. Their dream was a weekend wedding in France, surrounded by loved ones, free from trend pressures. The result? A priceless weekend of closeness and joy.

From the words of the happy couple, their guests couldn't stop talking about the "Bolo di cashupete," a traditional cake from Curacao that is served on all significant moments in life, be it birthdays, baptisms, or weddings. The astonishing part? We managed to serve it at a picturesque chateau in France, leaving everyone enchanted by its authentic flavor and nostalgic connection.

Hey, Instagram fam! It's your favorite wedding planner here, feeling incredibly grateful this Sunday morning. As I reflect on the past five years of running my wedding planning agency, I can hardly believe how much I've grown since those early days.

Yesterday's wedding was particularly meaningful for me, as it took place at the same venue where I planned my very first wedding. Looking back, it's amazing to see how far I've come. Of course, as a professional who always strives for perfection, I can be tough on myself when things don't go exactly as planned. But I had a great conversation with yesterday about the importance of taking time to celebrate our successes - and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Sluit je ogen; we gaan op reis naar jouw toekomstige bruiloft…

Vorige week deed ik deze krachtige oefening tijdens de CEO dag van .lifegoals. Ik sloot mijn ogen en ging in mijn gedachten
op bezoek bij mijzelf als toekomstige CEO.

Ik schonk aandacht aan wat ik voelde en de rust die ik uitstraalde. Tot mijn verbazing zag ik dat ik bepaalde werkzaamheden had gedelegeerd of losgelaten, taken waarvan ik me niet kon voorstellen dat ik dat niet meer of anders zou doen. Tot slot kwam één van mijn zoons de keuken binnen, pakte iets te eten, gaf mij een kus en wervelde weer de deur uit.

Deze oefening hielp me om te visualiseren wat er echt toe doet in mijn leven en wat mijn prioriteiten zijn. Mijn vervolgstappen in mijn bedrijf werden ineens heel helder!

Deze oefening kan ook heel waardevol zijn voor jou! Sluit je ogen en zie je droombruiloft voor je:

Wat is het gevoel dat de bruiloft bij je oproept? Wat voel je als je door de ruimte loopt?

Wat zie je? Waar ben je? Binnen of buiten? In Nederland of in het buitenland?

Welke dingen heb je vastgehouden? En welke dingen heb je losgelaten?Verbaast het je dat je dit kon loslaten?

Wat is datgene wat je het meeste raakt en vervult met vreugde?

Neem de tijd om die droombruiloft in je op te nemen en open nu weer je ogen. Was de bruiloft zoals je je hebt voorgesteld? Wat verraste je? Ik ben heel benieuwd naar je antwoorden. Je mag mij een DM sturen of reageren onder aan deze post.

Het creëren van een wedding design met bijpassend kleurenpalet is één van de dingen die ik het allerleukst vind!

Voor Andries en Shanice creëerde ik een zachte en romantische styling gebaseerd op de kleuren van de bruidsjurk. En met net dat streepje zonlicht was het eindresultaat perfect!

PUBLISHED on Girls of Honour today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eindelijk kan ik deze video met je delen. Afgelopen september, vertrok ik met een groep geweldige trouwleveranciers naar Portugal waar ik een fotografieworkshop hostte met maar liefst 6 shoots! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Toen we in Portugal waren zei Melissa, de maker van deze film: "Ik had niet gedacht dat het je echt zou lukken, één shoot in het buitenland is al een enorme klus, maar 6?! Maar toch staan we hier vandaag, en ben ik hier met volle vertrouwen." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ En dat raakte mij! Want ja, ik stapte met deze fotografie workshop uit mijn comfortzone. Maar ik mocht het doen met een team van leveranciers die achter mij stonden en met modellen die ik niet kende, maar die zich comfortabel genoeg voelden om met mij in het vliegtuig te stappen en dit avontuur aan te gaan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Het grootste cadeau wat ik van mijn bruidsparen en leveranciers krijg is vertrouwen.
