Had the pleasure of opening the @froday.nl stage. The collaboration between @smaakmarkt & @de_achtertuin provided a great stage alongside the river that turned into a hot atmosphere. I’m grateful to have been a part of it.
Opening up a stage allows me the freedom to lay a foundation for the night. To play songs that put people in a dancing mood while still leaving the “popular hits” untouched, to be played later by the others. It’s an art form that I like to treat with the utmost respect.
I’ve been able to touch on so many genres that are interwoven through African rhythm and culture. Even got to “break in” an unreleased song from Ugandan artists.
I’ve asked some friends to record some clips and I’ve put together a little snippet to show how it started.
More pictures and videos will undoubtedly follow with all the talented foto- and videographers walking around.
My journey into sound continues: WHAT A RIDE! 🙏🏾❤️

Being able to DJ and play the songs that I like from the afro-caribbean diaspora is something I truly enjoy. From soca and dancehall to konpa, merengue and much more. Those songs I grew up on, blended with al the wonderful modern tracks and new releases.
Hope to see you around on one of the dance floors
