This Thursday we will be teaming up with to bring forth another edition of Central Laat at (Utrecht), where an exploration of the thematic spaces between soundsystem culture and file sharing technologies will be on exhibition.

In the garden, we start off with our residents , .guy and , followed by and , showcasing sound system culture and the broad cultural heritage that goes with it.

In the museum’s Tuinzaal, performances, conversations and audiovisual works can be seen by Lulu, Janomax, Milena Anna Bouma and corecore.

Food will be provided by local favorite (vegan options available too).

Live at the BBQ Screening: “Babylon” (1980) by Franco Rosso at .ams

On February 1st we will screen the acclaimed film “Babylon” (1980, dir. Franco Rosso). Known for its portrayal of London sound system crews and the challenges faced by young black individuals in the late ‘70s to early ‘80s, the film stars Brinsley Ford as Blue and features music by Aswad, Dennis Bovell, and Cassandra.

Join us at Mur Mur (Johan van Hasseltweg 39, 1021 KS Amsterdam). Doors open at 6 pm, and the screening begins at 8 pm. Hosted by Garnett & Naima, the evening will feature their curated selection of dub, lovers rock, and reggae records.

Live at the BBQ is back! This time they partnered up with Doka for the last banger of the year. The 17th of December Live at the BBQ will present you the bridge between hiphop and electronic sounds with no other than Ranye, Cheyanne Hudson, Chalé and Garnett.

As a result of an almost 15 year long run in Amsterdam Live at the BBQ manages to bridge the gap between sounds, cultures and people through tasteful music awhich results in a life changing party/experience on the dancefloor.

Returning to the clubsettings with the Live at the BBQ's
ethos and bridging the gap between sounds and cultures.

This time we messed around and connected the dots, bringing several parts of digging culture together. We invited two of Damsco's renowned record stores, Redlight Records and Killa Cutz to highlight there take on musical selections. Longside two sick DJ's , Cheyanne Hudson and Lrrytwt both finding there way to the internet waves and picking the right gems. Obviously resident Garnett will provide the usual BBQ sauce to top it all off.

Amsterdam local, Jerrau, has a pulsating energy that intoxicates all those around him. Hitting the DJ scene hard and heavy, he has shown his power to synergize everything between bass, deep house and future funk at scene-leading radio shows and gigs.

Popping up all over, you can hear Jerrau on NTS, Radio Radio FM and Stranded. He has supported Sam Gellaitry, played at Soulection, Splash! Festival in Germany, Appelsap, Eurosonic Noorderslag and Carista’s Skate Cafe event, United Identities.

Congolese Londoner, BackRoad Gee, rose up through the pandemic, with his phonetically frenzied style like a phoenix from the ashes. His ability to build pulsating bass lines and lay down guttural lyrics is on another level.

This UK Rap underdog released his newest track, Under Attack, just a month ago, a sound of unbridled energy that has no boundaries. Spitting soundscapes across the UK, he has had praise hollered from the likes of BBC1 Xtra, Complex, Clash and DJ Mag, and who could blame them?

Backroad Gee started from the pandemic and now he’s here performing for the first time in the Netherlands, Live at the BBQ.

💅🏽Don’t let the sweet demeanor fool you, Bao G lays down ferociously hard trap that will make you double take on the dancefloor. With every set she aims to tell a story correlating between time and space, curating an atmosphere that has no limits.

Bao knows how to satisfy a crowd and yet also make her presence felt. She has the serious skills to utilize and analyze all the different levels on which music can be enjoyed; noticing the little details in lyrics as she speaks the mathematical language of tonalities.

After experiencing her insane equations at this year’s Lente Kabinet, we can’t wait for more Live at the BBQ.

Het HEM will be housing local legends and international icons on Saturday the 16th of July, all thanks to the creative connections between Bureaupunt and Homebase.

This event is to foster some serious relationships with the sounds that were born hand in hand but may have gotten lost along the way.

Next Saturday will be a BBQ beatdown you won’t forget, marinating the sweet sauces of electronic and hip hop talent of Zaanstad. Who’s bringing the potato salad?

Homebase Connects x Live at the BBQ is constantly cultivating their surrounding communities thanks to their musical representation, masterclasses and talent development programs.

Showcasing the hidden gems of Zaanstad and taste testing some artists from across the pond like Mad Professor and BackRoad Gee, this event will be a multifaceted mash of music, emerging fashion brands, and of course, BBQ grills.

Ahead of Saturday’s showcase at sat down with the for an interview about his creative process during his month-long Artist in Residency at the hotel!

This Saturday he will present the fruits of labour during a live performance on Doka’s immersive soundsystem. He’s joined by Bao G, Garnett, Jerrau and Lamsi who will connect the dots between Jarmenus’ influences and new material.

This is an exclusive and only chance to hear new music from the project until it releases in late 2023 only on vinyl.

For the past few weeks, Jarmenus has been in a music-creating bubble. Located at the Volkshotel, he has dedicated his time to creating a musical project.

On the 28th of May, Live at the BBQ presents Artist in Residency. On the grounds of DOKA, Jarmenus will share his exclusive project for the first time. This will be the only night where you can hear this project until it's release on vinyl in 2023.

Imagine! Live at the BBQ is celebrating it's 15th anniversary this year and we cannot wait to kick celebrations off tonight at Parellel.

We reminisce our history of good food, good music and being surrounded by good people. Come through tonight and celebrate with us! This video is the first in a series of short movies inspired by Live at the BBQ by different directors.

Surprise, surprise! Jerrau makes it a clean sweep of residents pulling up to our first edition at Parallel.

Having already played Ziongate at the same venue, he knows the ins and outs of that soundsystem and will be closing the night with expert sonic navigation!

Weaving together the live acts alongside our residents will be Garnett. Cutting his teeth at Utrecht’s local grassroots radio station Stranded FM, Garnett has honed his craft amongst the pool of talent that operate in the U.

When it comes to the club and in this case Parallel, Garnett takes dives deep into Detroit House, Techno and Soulful House whilst also stamping his identity firmly in his roots with UK sounds akin to Garage and Broken Beat. The playful exploration of all territory on the electronic spectrum create cross-overs between genres that dissolve the sense of category in his sets.

You already know what it is and how it does! Our residents Bao G and Lion Kojo will be making sure that iconic BBQ sound is brought to Parallel for the first Live at the BBQ club edition in 2 years!

Bao G joins us after touching down in Paris and London recently with shows at Rinse France and Venue MOT and Lion Kojo comes off the back of SELECT 46 at Operator last month and his memorable b2b at Dekmantel Selectors in Croatia last summer with Sekan.

As always, tickets available in our bio and don’t miss the return of BBQ in a club setting as we have some exciting plans to transform the space.
