⛔NORDICON 2020 CANCELLATION⛔

We are sad to announce that due to COVID-19, we've decided to cancel Nordicon 2020.
With the current restrictions, the safety of our guests and our future in mind, we have come to the conclusion, that it's best, for all parties involved, that we cancel our event in June. We are tremendously sad to see our work postponed but we are already shifting gears to bring you a more complete event in 2021.

⛔REFUNDS⛔
Unfortunately invoices were sent out yesterday, we apologize! Please do not pay these invoices, as the event is cancelled.
If you have already paid, please rest assured that your money will be refunded shortly. We are waiting for the money to enter our account, and will send them back to you as soon as possible.
All guests who's received an invoice will also be contacted via the email provided. This goes for artist alley stands and panel/workshop hosts as well.

Nordicon and covid-19
In the light of the global situation with the coronavirus, the questions and concerns voiced by our guests, as well as the Norwegian Health Directorate recommending events with 500 guests or more to cancel, we would like to give you more information in regards to Nordicon 2020.
The cancellation recommendation is active from March 11th to the end of the month.

As of now, Nordicon will in addition to our original plan for our event, work with a contingency plan, in preparation for possible future restrictions in regards to covid-19.

This means that we will continue to let you book rooms and tickets for the 19th-21st of June, and hope the pandemic passes before this time.
-IF- This is not the case, our backup plan takes action.

This plan is as follows,
We'll let in the adviced number of guests, and let them check into Oslofjord Hotel as planned. This means that if the adviced number is 500, we'll let the first 500 ticket check in. The remaining reserved tickets will be refunded.
For the guests that will be with us, we will provide programming and events as planned, but would have to cancel the stage shows. This is of course a last resort, and unless recommended otherwise, we will go through with Nordicon as first planned.

Information on ticket sales.
When you "purchase" a ticket for Nordicon 2020, our system books your spot, but money is not transferred. This means that even with the potential cancellation of some tickets, your money is always safe, and there's no risk of losing said money.
As of right now we have sold about 30 tickets, our goal for going through with Nordicon is about 1000. This means that to help making Nordicon a reality, both for 2020 and the years to come, book your ticket now!

We are a small start-up convention with big dreams and ambitions. But alone we can't realize those goals. Please join us in this journey, knowing that your money is safe and your health is our priority.

Tonight it was announced that Kawaiicon and Northcon unfortunately have had to postpone or cancel their convention on advice from their municipalities. We would like to show our support for them and other events affected by Covid-19.

Although the present and upcoming time is filled with uncertainty for organizers and cosplayers alike, we convention organizers want to show the community being united, with respect and understanding in focus.

Most conventions and cosplay events in Norway are run by volunteers, with limited resources.
We therefore hope that everyone shows understanding in this stressful situation, and give the organizers space and support, so that the situation can be solved in the best way possible.

ARTIST ALLEY!
While we wait for the tickets to drop (IN TWO DAYS), we are happy to give you guys some more information about our artist alley! Artist alley will be placed right besides our dealerhall, in a big bright open space, with plenty of natural light, giving you the best possible placement to show off your wares. We welcome everything from artists and painters to seamstresses and crafters!
We'll have 20 tables, each with two chairs, going for 500NOK. You can only buy a table once you've purchased a weekend ticket for the convention. Please contact us via our contact formula on our webpage to secure a spot.

Due to the controversy surrounding Oslofjord and Brundstadsstiftelsen, we would like to clarify some misunderatandings surrounding our venue and our convention.
Brundstadsstiftelsen was founded by Brunstad Christian Church (BCC), but the law dictates that a foundation cannot directly be owned. this means that BCC cannot earn money through Brundstadsstiftelsen from Oslofjord.
Brundstadsstiftelsen in itself will not earn anything either, due to the fact that Oslofjord is not generating a surplus, and isn't expected to for the next couple of years. Brundstadsstiftelsen is as we speak pulling out of Oslofjord, and new owners are being found. this process is a longer one, and is expected to take between one and two years. This is a sped up process that Oslofjord isnt able to expedite faster.
Neither Brundstadsstiftelsen nor the BCC are involved in running Oslofjord, and their staff are a versatile group of kind, hard-working people that we and Nordicon have full faith in. we are happy to stay at Oslofjord, as they have welcomed us, our quirky ideas and are excited to open their doors for all people, no matter gender, sexuality, religion or identity, in June at Nordicon!
We hope this calmed the worried would that has contacted us, if you have any further questions we are happy to answer them here in the comments, or, if you prefer a closed space, in our DMs.
