A Mandap is a structure used in Hindu ceremonies that consists of four posts that symbolize earth, air, water and fire. These elements represent energy and symbolize spirituality. The structure must be covered, and in the modern-day, it is adorned with beautiful fabrics and florals.

A Mehndi party is the pre-wedding celebration in Hindu culture when the bride has the red-orange mehndi "stain" applied to her palms, back of hands, and feet. Typically held the day before the wedding, the event often has a lounge feel, with colorful pillows.

Why are marigolds used in weddings?

Marigolds are very popular in Hindu weddings because they represent the sun, symbolizing brightness and positive energy. They are also associated with Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, who are considered an ideal couple in Hindu mythology.

According to Hindu tradition, the mehendi ceremony is mainly held at the bride's house or at a banquet hall on the eve of the marriage ceremony or few days before the marriage. Generally, the bride and groom attend the event together and on the occasion, a professional mehendi artist or a relative applies mehendi to the bride's hands and feet. The designs are very intricate. Often hidden within the mehndi pattern, the name or initials of the groom are applied.
