As we step into a new era with new seasons, tournaments, opportunities, and an array of games, we are honored and elated to unveil the latest jersey for our WePlay Kumari Girls Team.

Having attained numerous accolades in the preceding year, accomplishing personal milestones, and consistently setting new benchmarks, we are driven by greater ambitions to reach new heights. Thus, our new jersey is a representation of the three fundamental values that define the essence of WePlay Kumari.

First and foremost, the play doodles encapsulate the very heart and essence of WePlay. Anyone who's been a part of our team and community knows how much we prioritize the art of playing, and every aspect of our existence revolves around a fulfilling and remarkable gameplay experience.

Secondly, we emphasize the profound significance of Goddess Kumari. This divine embodiment symbolizes our girls, who are just as invaluable to our team as the Goddess herself to our nation. In addition, we also are eternally grateful and pay great respect to Kumari Futsal, our home ground.

Lastly, the colour pink, a symbol of femininity, carries a profound purpose. With our bright and bold pink hue, we seek to embody the same bright and bold spirit that represent our remarkable players - Ghalan Suzta, Jenifer Rana Magar, Kumari Thokar Tamang, Zharāna Bâyung Râi, Sazee Na, Shusma Maharjan and Rosni Xetri.

In donning this new jersey, we look forward to embarking on a new journey filled with greater achievements, learnings, growth and most importantly, strengthening our team spirit.

Here we have Ashmita Shrestha and Karuna Khadka, two of our favourite female hosts from 7way's united futsal club and Balchhi dhurbe Futsal. They understand that customer service is just as important as the game itself and go above and beyond to make sure their players have the best experience possible.

Their dedication to empowering every player they come across is truly inspiring. From motivating the youngest players to empowering the seasoned veterans, Karuna and Ashmita focus on providing a warm and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of age or gender.

Thank you, Karuna and Ashmita, for all that you do, and for setting examples of what it means to be "Powered by Women." 💪

Meet Arpana Pradhan and Silika Shakya, two women who are leading the way in women's empowerment through sports.

As Executive Director and Program Director at The WE United Project, they're working tirelessly to create a safe space for women and girls to build confidence, leadership skills, and more through sports.

Silika's passion for football started at a young age, but she quickly realized that it was stereotyped and frowned upon for girls to be involved in sports. She had to watch her favourite clubs and their matches in hiding, but she never gave up on her dream of creating a change. That's what led her to The WE United Project, where she's now making a difference alongside Arpana.

Together, these two women have built a grassroots movement that includes a wide network of female players, referees, coaches, volunteers, and local businesses that support women's empowerment. They have successfully trained 28 women to become coaches who provide training to more young girls inside and outside of Kathmandu, recently launched an all-female football academy, and consistently organize leagues and tournaments targeted towards women.

Their impact has been truly inspiring, and we're thrilled to be featuring them for our "Powered by Women" series.

Anustha Acharya and Manila Kafle are two women who are not afraid to challenge societal norms and pursue their passions. Through their work in sports journalism, they are making a difference and paving the way for more women to succeed in the industry.

Anustha is currently a talk show presenter at Matka Central AP1TVHD and was always interested in watching football and loved talking to people. Despite being stereotyped for her interests and traits as a young girl, she currently she has been interviewing multiple athletes, including young women who need the platform to get ahead in their careers.

As for Manila, currently a sports writer at NepalPress, her job requires her to be on field late in the evenings, attend matches and interview athletes. As a women's sports journalist, she contributes to developing women in sports by writing about them and their achievements.

Despite facing obstacles and stereotypes, these women have carved a niche for themselves and are inspiring the next generation of female journalists, and are the epitome of perseverance and determination in the world of sports journalism.

Behind every great game, there are powerful women making it happen. Meet Maya Lama and Alina Shah Thakuri - two ANFA certified referees who are breaking barriers in the world of sports!

Maya has been refereeing for the past 10 years, and Alina for the past 5 years. Both of them started out as football players, but somehow found their way and passion in refereeing. They have refereed both men's and women's games, and with the number of female players increasing day by day, they are proud to represent women in the game as well. However, they hope to see more leagues and tournaments with greater prizes for female players in the upcoming years!

It takes a lot of courage, skill, and dedication to referee a football game, and Maya and Alina bring all of that and more to the field every day. We're honored to showcase their achievements and celebrate their contribution to the world of sports.

Meet Sazee Na & Rina Maharjan, two inspiring women who are breaking barriers in the world of sports! As venue hosts at Rave Futsal and White horse futsal, they're not only managing the grounds but also ensuring that women players feel safe and welcome.

Sajina is soon to complete a year of managing Rave Futsal, and Rina has been managing White Horse Futsal for the past 3 years, and both of these inspiring women have been working to create a safe and equitable playing space for women.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to manage a sports ground, and these two women are doing it with grace and passion. From keeping track of bookings to ensuring a great playing experience, they're going above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

We thank Sajina and Rina for your wonderful service and for making our games better.

Garima Rai began her football journey as a young girl who was just filling in for her brother's football matches. Her brother, Gaurab, loved playing football in a nearby ground, but did not have a big enough team or players. That's when he started taking Garima to the matches together, and Garima first encountered football.

When she was studying in Highly Creative English Secondary School, she joined the school team to partake in the 1st FECA Competition where she was trained by Hari Maharjan, and she led her team to victory, not once, but thrice, all in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd FECA Competitions.

Later on, Garima joined the Futsal Arena Girls Team, where she got the opportunity to participate in regional tournaments. She also played in the Deputy Mayor Cup 2021, where her performance was highly celebrated and was selected for the SAFF U18 Women's Team. She then went on to represent the country in 2078 BS, where she played against India from the U18 team, and again recently against Bangladesh from the U20 team.

Garima is currently training for the U20 AFC Qualifiers Camp, and has big dreams of becoming a well-rounded professional athlete. Her determination to improve her skillsets is praiseworthy, and her incredible technical skills and footwork are sure to take her very far in her journey.

On 11th February 2023, WePlay attended the Revamp Nepal 2023 Start-up Fest as a participating start-up. In the two years of our operations, we have been involved in several sporting events, from both the participating front as well as the managerial front. All of our past involvement in events have been heavily sports focused, where we got to network with similar people and players who were passionate about sports.

However, during our recent involvement at Revamp Nepal 2023, we got to experience a whole new side of events focusing on the start-up ecosystem. We had the opportunity to talk about our brand with all the visitors, and engage with them through our contests and offerings. We also had the opportunity to meet so many other start-up founders, talk to them about their companies and their passions, and build new connections.

It's always a great opportunity to meet new people and learn about what drives them, and Revamp Nepal 2023 gave us the very exact platform to do so. Thank you to the entire organizing team for a successful event, and thank you to all the visitors who paid a visit to our stall and interacted with us.

A stark increment in players' and their playing behaviour since the World Cup has been remarkable, and indicates that despite the hurdles COVID left behind, players are gradually but most definitely looking for more playing spaces and experiences.

Shashwat Pant from OnlineKhabar shares a great piece on how futsal has been growing in Nepal in the past couple of years and where it is currently headed. Do give the article a read:

After a ligament tear on his knee in 2021, Avishek Shrestha stopped playing futsal. After the injury during a match, doctors recommended he take a break of at least two years. But when he got a call from his friends asking him to play in a tournament in December 2022, he could not say no.

Today, we complete 2 years of WePlay! 🎂🎊 And we are immensely proud of how far we have come.

In the past two years, we've connected with so many strong and talented players from different parts of the country who were brought together through playing. We've strengthened our bond with our old players, connected with new ones, and experienced new stories.

We've hosted even more matches for you and your teams and created new playing experiences at all of our wonderful futsal venues. We've reached out to more of our venue hosts and partners who make your playing experiences amazing every day.

We've also seen our Girls Team achieve greater successes within our team at WePlay as well as individually. A big portion of our achievement is dedicated to our Girls Team, who have contributed more to us than anyone else.

And we've gotten to know so many of you, our followers and well wishers - old and new, who constantly remind us of how much we are appreciated.

Thank you for joining us on our journey and helping us realize how much we love what we do. Here's to celebrating our second year, and many more to come!

At just 16 years old, Kabir Tamang has played over 50 futsal and football tournaments and won a plenty of them. Starting his futsal journey when he was just 6, Kabir attended trainings at Rave Futsal and played with teams older than him and learned from his coaches and his teammates.

He came across Roshan Panta, sports faculty at Daffodil School, who was highly impressed with his skills and offered him a sports scholarship. Then onwards, Kabir has represented his school during futsal tournaments and bagged the best player award too. Kabir also represented Rave Futsal at the 2021 NFL qualifiers.

Playing as a center-forward, Kabir has excellent power, speed and finishing, and is our
