The one and only Hollie Smith is coming to our venue on Thursday 28th November at 7-30pm. For over 20 years Hollie has cemented herself as an acclaimed solo artist and an accomplished collaborator. Alongside three #1 debuting solo albums Hollie has scooped numerous awards, accolades and seen her voice become part of many iconic moments in New Zealand music history. Over the years Hollies potent vocal powers have made her highly sought-after with appearances on works from Fly My Pretties, Flight of the Conchords and Sol3 MIO. Are you looking for a venue to hold your next event? if you answered yes did you know we have four separate spaces all under the one roof. Our Auditorium is suitable for large conferences seating 500 guests, afterwards you and your guests can flow out to the Woodham Foyer to enjoy a drink at the bar as well as catering. The Woodham Foyer can be set up with staging, theatre style, banquet style the choice is yours.

Upstairs is the Bradford Room, a lift is available as well as full bar facilities. The Bradford Room has a built in projector and screen plus if you need any help we have two full time technicians onsite to help you with all of your technical needs. Again the Bradford Room can be set in any formation you require.

Last but not least is the Green Room which is ideal for smaller meetings and group classes. Access is via the rear of the building which makes it a private space.

Today it is our pleasure to host the Hakatere Festival commencing with a powerful and moving Powhiri. This heartfelt welcome set the tone for this event, as numerous schools and pre schools gather to showcase their talents. The energy and enthusiasm shown is outstanding making this event a memorable occasion celebrating the spirit of the community as well as cultural expression.

Today we welcome the Ashburton Christian School who have arrived for their first rehearsal of Pilgrim (Her Story) which is on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th August at 6-30pm. This is a contemporary musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic Pilgrims Progress. Burdened by failure and betrayal Christian is determined to leave the city of destruction in search of a better place. Want to find out how this ends book your tickets today. Hailed as one of the funniest productions in the history of London Theatre, The Big Little Theatre Company are proud indeed to bring this multi award winning crazy comedy to the Ashburton Trust Event Centre’s stage. We promise something for everyone. From live music, provided by the hugely talented Wayne Pannett and his band supported by our Waynette dancers, to riotous slapstick comedy to delight those young and young at heart. Please come and join us for a great couple of hours of entertainment where we promise to make you laugh and laugh some more at the antics of the permanently ravenous Francis Henshall and his attempts to keep two jobs, protect a fugitive, unite two lovers – one in disguise – earn a crust and win the girl. All this whilst being hampered by a very, very old waiter with a dodgy ticker, a hapless band of helpers, a failed actor and a petty crook!
