Slightly gutting way to end the night.

We went from 12th to 6th in heat 1

Heat 2 seen us grab some good speed and go from 6th - 2nd

Put us off 6th for the feature.

Off one of the restarts I got driven straight into which spat me back into 11th or 13th.

Managed to drive the car back into 8th for a top 10. All in all we are all happy as we’ve gotten some speed back !

We made the hike down tonight to make our return to Meeanee speedway since 11th of November 2023.

A good field of 22, so hopefully we can have some good racing here again ! Looking forward to it !

Bit of a tough pill to swallow. Definitely better than this. We got sent to the rear after got spun off a restart. Drove from 24th - 14th and with about 6 laps to go the engine blew.

Gave it everything I had but in the end couldn’t get it done.

This year I have been working with Zackary Sokol in getting some Nathan Brough Racing merchandise designed! Super stoked on the way this designs has come out looking !

I am also very lucky to have come in contact with Destination Apparel who will be printing the shirts & hoodies ! They’ve done really tidy work on my merchandise. 2 runs down and 1 to go.

First run was good. Felt comfortable and had decent pace.

Second run, the track changed drastically from what we expected. Had no grip. Felt like I was standing still.

With one more run to go we have made a couple changes to the car. Hopefully we can can find a bit of drive 👊

The team is heading to Kihikihi Speedway for technically our first hit out in the car. We attended Waikaraka Park last weekend but only lasted 5 laps as we split the main water hose.

20/07/24 • 23/24 Prize-giving

Saturday night had the team headed to the Annual ATQMA Prize-giving at the Double-Tree by Hilton.

Firstly I’d like to add that the hospitality, professionalism, food and service that was provided throughout the awards night was outstanding.

The awards I got nominated for was
* Best Effort Award
* Most Improved driver
* Johnny Missen Trophy
* Best presented car & crew
* Sportsperson & Drivers Choice award.

I was happy to be the recipient to the most improved driver award, especially with the season that has just finished. And the Sportsperson & Drivers Choice award, grateful for being recognised for this award by the fellow drivers.

However it wasn’t only the driver that brought home awards.

Boss Shazza brought home friend of the club! It was cool to see that the effort and dedication she makes to help our class run doesn’t go unnoticed.

Mr. President Mike brought home the presidents shield. On one of the most beneficial and job efficient years with the committee that was guided by President Mike, we managed to have a well enjoyed seasons worth of racing, and a luxurious prize giving,

Mr. President needs to run for a 2nd term !

! 23/24 Season Wrapped !

The 2023/24 season has finally been a year that we have seen more consistent highlights than we have low. The 2023/24 season didn’t start out how we wanted with us traveling down to Napier for only 3 laps before I got caught up in someone else’s carnage and we swept it into the trailer. From then the season picked up where we started finding a lot of car speed through trying different things in the set up. The communication between me and my dad got better as I understood what I wanted in the car. I see this year has been then season we have made significant steps forward.

Here’s some statistics of improvements from last year to this year.

Unfortunately due to a concussion that was deemed by the “Powers To Be” we did fall out of being a contender for the division 2 championship. However there’s always next year. Keeping our chins up and moving on !

I was blessed to have an opportunity to run in the team Sokol’s six shooter at Baypark Speedway, the team and I managed to pull in a top 10 feature finish that night, where I started rear of field the entire night.

Ruapuna Speedway 📍
•BT RACE 4 MATES !•

The team took the haul down to Christchurch for the BT30 lap memorial. With this being a brand new track to us, we knew it was going to be tough !

Heat 1: Started 3rd
Throughout the entire night there was a light drizzle of rain and with this heat being only 15 minutes after wheel pack it was really greasy! I managed to have a run staying out of a bit of mayhem however did lose 2 spots slipping back to 5th.
Finished: 5th

Heat 2: started 18th
Made a couple minor changes to the car had some good wheel to wheel racing. Worked myself up into 9th
Finished: 9th

This actually had me qualified 5th overall! But with the format being top qualifier chooses who starts beside them. until the field of 24 is filled, it didn’t matter in the feature grid positions.

I got chosen 10th.

Feature: started 10th
Got off to a good start ending up in 6th at the end of lap 1. With 30 laps to go I knew this would be a game of patience. Whilst the laps ticked over a few more passes were made and managed to get up into 2nd by lap 13, and managed to close the 4 second gap to the leader to 1.8 seconds until a yellow came out on lap 17. Off the restart had a really good battle with 1st and 3rd managed to get myself in front at lap 23 and stretch out my lead to a 3.7 second lead by the chequered flag.
Feature: finished 1st 🥇

This was my first time at Ruapuna and my first ever feature win ! So stoked to come home with a bit of silverware!

Ellesmere’s CTRA TQ champs

Qualified 14th which was a bit further back than I expected. But managed to work my way into 10th on a track where passing was fairly limited !

Hey guys, with no racing this weekend, I headed over to Blastacars! Real good bunch down there if anyone has a spare evening it’s definitely worth some fun, going sideways and doing some laps! The guys and girls down at Blastacars Auckland are real welcoming they all have a good sense of humour not shy of a joke! And super helpful! So head over to 82 the Concourse, Henderson ! Ride onboard with 2 of my laps from Friday night ! 2nd lap setting fastest lap of the day and 2nd fastest of the week and 3rd fastest of the month so far (I think) with a 20.351 second lap time ! Thanks Blastacars !

2nd head started 19th. Made my way up to 18th then a big wreck happened in front. Little slow to get up out of the car. But made sure Roydon from Crawford Motorsport and Kate from Groshinski Racing were A okay as soon as I was out. Ended with a DNF. Full write up to come through from both nights racing soon.
