With thunderstorms looming and a surprise wedding happening in the back yard of their home, Rob and Brydie didn't care. After 28 years together, they just wanted to get married with their family present to witness the love they share. There were tears, there were smiles, there was the shaking of the head and a voice saying, 'its about time', but there was no rain.
Thanks for your kind words, what a great time it was.
'The very first day we met Debbie we felt instant relief. Debbie knew what was to be taken care of and went an extra extra mile to make our day special. She came up with ideas I never even dreamed of and her professional, calm manner had me feeling relaxed. Debbie also created the most amazing bouquet and found the perfect poem that was just meant for us. We love you Debbie. Wish we could do it all over again, she really needs 10 stars.'

A beautiful wedding with a beautiful couple that was live streamed to Brazil so that Andreza’s family didn’t miss out. With their vows spoken in English and Portuguese, the love these two share was very evident. ‘Rio’ the ring bearer was very excited and did a great job delivering the rings.

So great to marry a happy couple…
‘No words for saving us twice! With the ceremony and the flowers. Our personalized ceremony was exactly how we had in our minds and you captured our essence. You also went above and beyond to get the flowers in time and I absolutely loved my bouquet 😍 thank you so much for your kind words and professionalism.’

The word ‘elope’ has historically meant, ‘to run away secretly with the intention of getting married, usually without parental consent.’ During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, eloping became quite popular and was said to have reflected a time of young people striving for independence and rebelling against their faith and their families.

Eloping is becoming more popular, and a chic way for couples to express themselves. It can be more romantic, much cheaper and less stressful, not to mention, you can exchange your vows anywhere, which adds the possibility of an adventurous element and a unique bonding experience.

Suzi and Jesse eloped over 2 years ago, with their parents present and also incorporating their children, with a hand fasting ceremony.
Their celebration was about them and the love they have for each other and their family.

If you are thinking of eloping, let me show you how easily it can be done.

It only takes 3 days to get a marriage license in NZ, if you are interested in elopements or getting married, contact me now.

Why do we say, ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’?
It has long been told to us that a bride needs these things for good luck on her wedding day.
‘Something old’ stands for continuity.
‘Something new’ shows optimism for the future.
‘Something borrowed’ symbolizes borrowed happiness.
‘Something blue’ represents purity, love and fidelity.

Have you ever wondered why, wedding rings are worn on the left hand, fourth finger?
Wedding rings have long been considered a symbol of eternal love and devotion. Gold, silver, platinum or diamond encrusted. The vein in the fourth finger, left hand is believed to be directly linked to the heart. The early romans called this the ‘Vena Amoris’, or ‘vein of love’. So, to solidify a union founded in love, a ring was placed on that specific finger to signify the romance that the newly wedded couple shared, essentially connecting their two hearts. As the heart is at the centre of your emotions, the wedding ring shows others that your heart has been claimed by another. In these modern days, some couples choose whether or not to wear a ring. Some couples may choose to exchange a bracelet or necklace or something that is culturally significant rather than wear rings.
Lockdown is a great time to be planning your upcoming wedding.

Only one word can describe this wedding...... magical! A beautiful wedding that took place at Motuihe Island in the Hauraki Gulf. Mark and Mia shared a beautiful summers day marrying at "their special place." Unfortunately their much loved Thorpe was not allowed on the island, but he let us know he was there. Although they married before lockdown and restrictions, there were 10 people in attendance. With Alert Level 2 restrictions on weddings, a small intimate wedding can still be achieved. Your wedding, your way.

‘Debbie Carter was amazing to work with. Very helpful when I didn’t have a clue what I was doing and perfect for our ceremony. Added bonus of also being a florist. Debbie also sourced our flowers which were absolutely stunning and well priced 😍 I wasn’t sure about real flowers but I’m so glad I did.’ - Megan & Carl Anderson.

‘We could not recommend Debbie more highly. She did a fantastic job of our flowers and we had many compliments from our guests. Debbie took the time to listen to what we wanted and to suggest different ideas with us. She also helped us match our flower colours by taking us to the flower market and went above and beyond to help us on our wedding day. A big thank you to Debbie for a wonderful job. Angela and Simon. ‘
