BATFIRST 2023/24 | Auckland Cricket aims to put a BatFirst pack into the hands of every Year 3 child attending a decile 1-5 school in Auckland. Our long-term goal is to offer children physical activity opportunities, which can assist in their overall educational and social development.
One of the biggest barriers for children being physically active can be having the tools to start. BatFirst aims to remove that and introduce basic ideas to start playing.
Since its inception in 2019 14,709 kids from 107 decile 1-5 schools have recieved a BatFirst kit. In the 2023-24 season alone we reached 3628 kids from 149 Classes in 31 schools.
Programme proudly sponsored by Local Doctors.

On January 4th, we celebrated a legend’s contribution to cricket in Auckland and New Zealand.
‘Thank You, Gup’ day not only celebrated Martin Guptill's prowess on the field, but also his impact on our organisation and the wider cricketing community in Auckland.
And the great man didn’t disappoint, smashing an unbeaten 85 to carry his bat and set up the ACES Super Smash win over the Wellington Firebirds at Eden Park Kennards Hire Community Oval.
Thank you, Guppy!
