Hi there! How are you spending the final days of 2024?
This is my second Christmas in New Zealand. While I tried to make last year’s Christmas extra special, this year I preferred a quiet and peaceful time with my family. I guess it’s a natural progression as New Zealand becomes more and more like home.
One big difference from last year is my mindset. Last year, I was full of excitement about how to enjoy Christmas, but this year, I’m thinking about what kind of arrangement to launch and workshops to hold for Christmas. Since I opened my studio not too long ago, I couldn’t prepare much for this Christmas season, but my head is already full of ideas for next year.
The photo is of a mini Christmas tree which is called Christmas corntree in Korea . It looks even more beautiful at night with LED lights wrapped around it. I’m thinking of hosting an adorable Christmas corntree-making workshop and arrangements like this next year. It’s only been a few days since Christmas, but I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Making Christmas wreaths🎄 around this time of year is always so exciting for me as a florist. The endless possibilities of combining different materials to create unique wreaths keeps me inspired. This year, as I prepared for my second Christmas in New Zealand, I had enjoyable time to make a wreath with my daughter. I made a large one and she did a small one.
Unfortunately, sourcing materials here is so much more challenging😭 compared to Korea, where there’s a wider variety of conifers available. So, I had to get creative and combine preserved and dried materials to create a vintage and unique look. I‘m really happy with how it turned out!
Luckily, I was able to find a good variety of conifers for this Saturday’s wreath-making workshop. I even visited a few grower and markets to find the perfect materials.
You can’t imagine how excited I was to find the perfect conifers. (I still miss the conifers of Korea, but I‘m enjoying exploring the different plant life here in New Zealand)
