Last week, close to 400 attended the Electro Mobility Summit & Expo.

It was great to see on display the battery electric truck that will be headed to Fiji with CCS2 charging. Also e-pallet, e-loader great for logistics, plus for construction site, an e-digger. Don't worry about it running out of charge whilst on site, utilise the mobile battery charger that you can take to the fast charger to fill, if your construction site has no power.

As well as sustainable electric truck transportation options, there are movements within the automotive industry to utilise hydrogen trucks.

Grant Doull has led Hyundai's hydrogen business development overseeing the successful implementation of NZ's first hydrogen trucks, making it the second market globally to achieve this milestone.

Grant Doull has over 30 years in the automotive industry; he currently leads Hyundai New Zealand’s Hydrogen & Eco Commercial Vehicle program and serves on the board of the New Zealand Hydrogen Council.

Grant will be on panel, an interactive discussion: EECA-backed decarbonisation: Comparing hydrogen and electric vehicle trucks for clean transport at the New Zealand Electro Moblility Summit.

The Income Tax (Clean Transport FBT Exclusions) Amendment Bill was drawn from the members' ballot and introduced to Parliament on 21 March 2024.

The next step is First Reading. The Bill would exempt electric vehicles (EVs) from Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) for a period of five years, to provide a clear financial incentive for employers to purchase new EVs as company cars.

Businesses buy about 60% of the new cars in Aotearoa New Zealand, and they usually make their way into the secondhand market after two — five years. This policy can help people into EVs today and tomorrow.

Our Story

Conferenz proudly launched the EVworld expo, EV Champions Awards and Industry Conferences in 2017, and has successfully run these events annually since, with a growing exhibitor and visitor base. From 2021, the show will be re-born as the eworld expo, a show covering all forms of electro-mobility and associated sustainable technologies for the home and consumer.

The EVworld expo will now feature as part of the eworld show, with a major central expo area. Four other zones will be dedicated to key electro-mobility and automation solutions; EV, ebike, escooter, ehome and emobility.

The eworld electric vehicle and electro-mobility Conference & Expo Trade Day is Friday 7 May; This is for SME owners, fleet managers and decision-makers in businesses to experience and evaluate EVs for their organisation. With [free] seminars.
