🎙️ So I Did a Thing…

There's a new episode of Real Women Raw Stories airing on 1st January 11am on Plains FM (96.9), but this one is a little different. Given the timing of year, I didn’t feel right asking a guest to come on the show, so I decided to do something a bit out of my comfort zone—I interviewed myself.

If I’m being totally honest, I feel very vulnerable and nervous about it coming out tomorrow. It’s a strange feeling putting my own story out there, but it’s also been a great learning curve to understand how my guests must often feel when they share their raw and real experiences.

The purpose of the show has always been to highlight real and raw stories, so I guess it’s my turn now.

I’d love to hear your thoughts! Often, with podcasts, you don’t get much feedback—so if you enjoy it (or even just have a kind word), please send me a message, private or otherwise.

🎉 Today is my birthday! 🎉

To mark the occasion I am leaving my laptop at home and taking a day off work to spend quality time with my family and enjoy some much-needed relaxation.

Birthdays always make me reflect on the year that’s passed. I think most people would agree that this year has been both weird and challenging.

I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing people in my life—both personally and professionally—who have supported me along the way. Here’s to appreciating the little things and looking forward to the year ahead!

After wrapping last year, the burning question has been 'will we have one or two shows in 2025?'

Last year wasn’t without its challenges—economic hurdles, speaker changes for Christchurch, and the Hamilton attempt that didn’t quite work out. But despite it all, we pulled off two incredible events!

So, here we go again—two shows in 2025! Let’s see where this journey leads.

When you realise your headshots are way out of date, it’s a lifesaver to know someone amazing who can help! Petra Mingneau Photography has such a gift for making you feel at ease—even when you have no clue how to pose or what to do with your hands.

Last night, I had the privilege of celebrating Glenda and her incredible milestone—30 years in business!

It was a true testament to her generous nature and leadership that so many of her former staff came to honor her.

Working for Glenda at Harding Conferences for 10 years taught me so much, and saying I learned a lot would be an understatement. She has been such a special person in my life and my family’s lives, and I feel truly honored to call her my friend.

Congratulations, Glenda—30 years in business is absolutely epic! 🎉

This is a question I get asked all the time. What is the difference between a stylist, coordinator and wedding planner?

💎 Stylist - They come up with a design and colour scheme for your wedding. Essentially they create 'the look' for your wedding day. They will often include floral options that will be in season.

💎 Coordinator - This is a person who is there for your wedding day and communicates with the other vendors to ensure a smooth running of the day. Wedding planners (including myself) often offer this option.

💎 Wedding Planner - They can help you with whatever you require. Budgets, booking vendors, run sheets, setups, pack downs, the list goes on. A wedding planner is 'your ' person, someone that can help with any or all aspects of your wedding.
