🎉 Today is my birthday! 🎉

To mark the occasion I am leaving my laptop at home and taking a day off work to spend quality time with my family and enjoy some much-needed relaxation.

Birthdays always make me reflect on the year that’s passed. I think most people would agree that this year has been both weird and challenging.

I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing people in my life—both personally and professionally—who have supported me along the way. Here’s to appreciating the little things and looking forward to the year ahead!

✨ Exciting news for Real Women Raw Stories! ✨

After wrapping last year, the burning question has been 'will we have one or two shows in 2025?'

Last year wasn’t without its challenges—economic hurdles, speaker changes for Christchurch, and the Hamilton attempt that didn’t quite work out. But despite it all, we pulled off two incredible events!

So, here we go again—two shows in 2025! Let’s see where this journey leads.

Last night, I had the privilege of celebrating Glenda and her incredible milestone—30 years in business!

It was a true testament to her generous nature and leadership that so many of her former staff came to honor her.

Working for Glenda at Harding Conferences for 10 years taught me so much, and saying I learned a lot would be an understatement. She has been such a special person in my life and my family’s lives, and I feel truly honored to call her my friend.

Congratulations, Glenda—30 years in business is absolutely epic! 🎉

This is a question I get asked all the time. What is the difference between a stylist, coordinator and wedding planner?

💎 Stylist - They come up with a design and colour scheme for your wedding. Essentially they create 'the look' for your wedding day. They will often include floral options that will be in season.

💎 Coordinator - This is a person who is there for your wedding day and communicates with the other vendors to ensure a smooth running of the day. Wedding planners (including myself) often offer this option.

💎 Wedding Planner - They can help you with whatever you require. Budgets, booking vendors, run sheets, setups, pack downs, the list goes on. A wedding planner is 'your ' person, someone that can help with any or all aspects of your wedding.

Cup Week has come and gone, but what an incredible highlight it was on the Canterbury calendar! So much effort goes into making these events happen—marquees, furniture, fencing, security, bathrooms, catering, drinks, styling, florals, signage, and more. Every detail has to be perfect to ensure everyone has a great time.

A massive thank you to all the hardworking industry crews who made Cup Week such a memorable event!

In past years, we've held the event in August, but next year we’re moving it to October! This shift means it will fall after daylight savings, giving us longer days and (fingers crossed 🤞) better weather to enjoy together.

Exact dates are still to come, so stay tuned for updates as we confirm all the details. Can’t wait to see you there!
