Blue Spur Farmstay & Crooked Mile Cottage, Hokitika We run an authentic New Zealand farmstay experience in Hokitika on the stunning wild West Coast. Stay Welcome to Blue Spur Farmstay and wedding venue.

Come and stay with us in our large farmhouse situated on 75acres up the Arahura Valley, minutes from the Arahura River. 5mins drive to the beach & 10mins from the town centre. Feed the many farm animals, relax and take in the views of the farm & bush and sea. If you are after peace and quiet and enjoy the tranquility of being in the country then this is the place for you. Guests can spend time in

the paddocks with the good natured stock and feed the pigs and birds anytime.
** Our house is completely off-grid. All our power comes from a solar panel array. All our water is rainwater collected from the roof. Many of the features in the house are from building recyclers. We also offer a our farm as an affordable, private wedding venue for up to 100 guests. There are multiple site options with amazing views. There is a rustic outdoor covered bar area with campfire. Bridal preparation rooms and we can offer some cool, rustic props as well. Contact us to discuss your special day.

Lambing season is mad! Time to teach the newbies how to cross the stream to the next paddock. Winter is a really great time to visit Blue Spur Farmstay. Loads of adorable little lambs bouncing around like lunatics!

I rescued the little black calf from down a ditch and it's doing great. Mum was very happy to have back.

Kia ora! Meet the newest members of the family at Blue Spur Farmstay.
Carlos and George came from just up the road. Their mum is off on new exciting adventures so the boys now live with us!
They have fitted in with the the flock of Arapawa sheep perfectly. Such great characters. Really friendly and curious.
Can't wait for you all to meet them.

We have a lot of rata growing on the edges of our large stands of native bush here at Blue Spur Farmstay.
Scarlet rātā is one of the better-known species of rātā vines, because it flowers in autumn or winter, and is often highly visible on well-lit host trees along forest roads, with vibrant displays of large red flowers (sometimes orange or yellow) that rise above the forest canopy.
