Be safe on the roads this week. There are still plenty of Halloween displays that can be viewed from the street until Saturday night, a few ongoing/upcoming community events and not to mention all the adult parties, so expect the unexpected and remain alert while driving ☺️

Happy Halloween everyone! 🎃

For those unable to see the Map Legend (Key) here is what each colour means!👻☠️

We’re well under way with the visitors! Sausage sizzle is sizzling… Cash and food donations are rolling in (much appreciated)! We are open to visitors/trick or treaters 5pm-11pm. After this the display can be viewed from the street until Sunday 3am.

If you’re taking pics during the day and night, please send them my way so I can put it in the 2024 album and post some stories throughout the night! 📸

Lower Huttians, maybe save yourselves from your “that’ll do” rushed face paint job on the kids by letting the professionals Rainbow Circus Face Painting, Balloon Twisting & More do it. Get in early at Queensgate Shopping Centre as lines will likely close earlier than stated due to numbers 🎨

Upper Huttians, it’s a work/school day and we know all you parents/guardians will be scrambling to get your kids dolled up and out the door before all the treats have run out… well let Queen Street Pharmacy at least take the pressure off by helping with some face painting 🎨

What an amazing turnout across Lower and Upper Hutt! The map was viewed well over 9k times by the end of the night… So thank you to everyone who made the most of the map, especially those who ended up sharing the map with others they bumped into while out and about.

We got to witness a special moment of a complete stranger asking how another person found our place and if they knew about the map, then proceeded to show and share it with them 🤩

Word on the street is that many homes ran out of treats by 7pm due to the sheer number of trick-or-treaters! Many displays like Skullduggery Lane and myself had an incredible turnout of 1k+ trick-or-treaters/visitors!

A huge shout out to everyone who participated in the map this year, without all of you this wouldn’t be nearly as successful as it was! We reached a new record number of registrations (100+) and I’m sure the growth and reach will only continue to climb next year!

Apologies to those who reached out to take part in the map after the cut off but didn’t make it in time for my final map update at midday yesterday. I’ve taken note of your intentions and we can definitely carry it over to next year!

With all that said, it goes to show how together as a community we have the ability to create something great with lasting memories by developing and promoting safe spaces, and we can take ownership of what “community for the people” truly means.

Thank you all again for your support and participation this year. As I said before, without you I wouldn’t be able to make this happen.

There seems to be a bit of confusion about displays vs trick-or-treat only locations. Both are trick-or-treat friendly, only difference is one has a display for people to view and/or something to partake in and the viewing/visiting times generally go past 8:30pm unlike traditional trick-or-treating 🥰🎃

Many of us with displays will be leaving them on overnight today and possibly tomorrow to view from the street for those who miss the in-person interaction with xyz location.
