DOVBLEVISION began their brew when Jimmy Fresh encountered Kauri in an afterparty hot tub, only months after his legendary bass set that rattled The Portal of Splore ’21. Kauri asked for DJ lessons, Jimmy obliged! Cue lockdown, a cute romance story and a shared desire in crafting next-level experiences for the local scene, DOVBLEVISION initially dished an eclectic trap, dubstep and DnB heavy flavour, inspired by their love of bass music.

DOVBLEVISION were surprised when the Universe snowballed them through a series of gigs requesting their slay-the-floor energy, in the genre of house. They gladly took on the challenge, but little did they know that by entering the realms of tech house, their fate would be sealed.

2 years later and they have tasted the tech house, smelled the tech house, felt the tech house. They have become one with the tech house, all while staying true to their love of filthy drops and big throw-down energy.

Having refined their fateful flavour on the stages of Riverbeats, Spring Festival, Resolution and NZ Spirit, the hype for DOVBLEVISION continues to grow as Jimmy and Kauri dish a unique, driving energy to every sound system that crosses their path. DOVBLEVISION delivers the Chef’s Kiss, TECH HOUSE style.

Penetrating basslines, grooved rhythms, a delicate dash of pew-pews, funk and nostalgic bangers, accompanied with a buffet of riveting peak-time drops that will have you cutting shapes from starter to end course.

Such good times with great humans. Can't wait to do it again.

We celebrated by this river with chunky bass music and epic vibes. People moved their bodies and were kind to each other. I like to think that the river picked up those expressive and appreciative vibes and carried that data down to report back to the ocean the experience that nature had of itself this weekend

PSA – Toilet Stuff 🚽 🚻
-
Ok team, we gotta talk toilets. We’re super lucky to have toilets right there, we’re also super lucky to have composting toilets ❤️ good for you, good for the farm, good for Nature.
-
It’s important that you use these correctly! Men, there’s urinals round the side for wees! If you use the inside toilet, do your business, and then grab a handful of sawdust and sprinkle it over your waste, then close the lid.
-
Keeping the lid closed and using sawdust like this helps keep the smells in check, and also ensures that everything composts properly.
-
Our event is going to be a heavy load on these dunnies so please do your best to follow the instructions. The instructions should also be printed inside the loo. Familiarise yourself with the process in the day so when it’s nighttime you don’t screw it up :)
-
To get to the toilets, go through the marquee, behind the stage area to the left and up the hill – you’ll see them. I’ve included a handy map in the post for wayfinding.
-
This has been a Public Service Announcement

The SUB:CULTURE Bush + Bass event series are held at the pristine and immaculate Riverside Farm.
-
The site is no joke. Nestled on the banks of a reflective and calm river, on the edge of a quaint farm in the hillsides of Whakamarama.
-
This space is special to us and to our hosts. They’ve graciously allowed us to be in this space and we treasure the working relationship we maintain with them.
-
They scratch our back, we scratch theirs. In return, everyone gets a dope party. A community is built: around respect, heavy AF bass, common values and shared experiences.
-
See you there. Bush + Bass 2, November 28, 2020. Ticket link in bio and Facebook event page. Join us.

Bush + Bass 2 is coming in hot on the 28th of November
-
Our festival site is located right on the edge of a beautiful and crystal clear river. You can see it from the stage!
-
We’ll be pumping the tunes from mid afternoon all the way into the night.
-
Imagine yourself! Doing bombs in the river to jamming tunes during the heat of the afternoon and as the sun goes down. Then you’ll dry off and we’re going to party like no tomorrow into the night.
-
If you’re still with us at sunrise you can jump back in the cool morning water to freshen up again. 😂

SUB:CULTURE Collective — Cultivating bass

The SUB:CULTURE Collective seeks to create safe spaces for humans to connect with themselves and others through the divine experience of low frequency sound.

Bass music paired with consent culture has the power to resonate and amplify feelings of self expression and belonging. We celebrate life through music and movement - together.

Subcultures have the power to disrupt dominant or mainstream culture, steering them away from profit and industry, back to authenticity and integrity.

SUB:CULTURE values your individuality, your participation, your care and respect for others and the planet. All are welcome who agree with this kaupapa.
