🇳🇿⚽ From English Roots to Kiwi Pride: Stephen Hoyle’s Journey

After 13 years in New Zealand, The Thirsty Whale Restaurant and Bar Napier City Rovers’ defender and assistant coach Stephen Hoyle has officially become a New Zealand citizen. This milestone not only solidifies his bond with Aotearoa but also reunites him with his brother, Jim Hoyle, on the pitch. Together, they’ve rekindled their football journey in Napier, sharing the field once again.

Hoyle reflects on the significance of this achievement, stating, “It’s huge for me... I am like a person who has grown into New Zealand.” His story is a testament to the deep connections that sport can foster across cultures and borders.
