50 Paint Your Own Cookie Packs (100 cookies in total) yesterday for Cardiac Kids Mid and South Canterbury. The kids really enjoyed painting and eating these!

Cookies for a very special organisation - Cardiac Kids Club Mid and South Canterbury ♥️

When I was 25 weeks pregnant, we found out that our daughter had a VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) also known as a hole in the heart. We were very worried and frightened by the news, having never heard of this before and what that meant for our baby. Not long after, we were invited along to a picnic with the Cardiac Kids Club, to meet other families of heart children and get support and advice incase our newborn had to have surgery.

Fortunately, our wee Billie, who is now 12 weeks old is doing very well and hasn’t required surgery, but there are many many children who have multiple heart surgeries from birth and throughout, and the Cardiac Kids Club Mid and South Canterbury, are here to provide support for these children and their families.

We have just been lucky enough to spend an amazing weekend away with them and some of the heart families in Twizel and we can’t thank them enough. They’re an awesome bunch of people. Not to mention the selfless Pleasant Point Lions for putting it all on and hosting the whole fantastic fun filled weekend that was so special for all the families.

Incredible people with incredible hearts ♥️

Lunch platters for some cruise ship passengers to take on a helicopter to the mountains today 😍🏔️

One box had no dietary requirements, but the other was vegan and nut free. I made a homemade vegan brownie, homemade tomato relish, homemade vegan seeded crackers and roasted sunflower and chickpea sandwiches with a vegan mayo, which I found surprisingly tasty 😋

Something a bit different for me! My nana asked me to make a cake for my aunties birthday 🎂

I wasn’t prepared with a fancy cake board and I’m not much of a cake maker, but I am pretty good at muffins, so I came up with this made out of mini carrot muffins with cream cheese icing and the wee extras on the side are mini banana choc chip muffins with a whittakers choc icing. From what I heard last night it tasted pretty good 😋🤗

Happy Christmas Eve and a huge Merry Christmas to all my customers and followers. It’s been another busy year for The Foodie, doing what I love.

For now we are still waiting the arrival of our baby - due any day now! So I will be preoccupied for the next wee while, but don’t hesistate to message me regarding events and bookings, as I’m hoping to be straight back into it as soon as I feel able.

Thank you all for your bookings and supporting me over the year and I hope all the children enjoy their hot chocolate spoons tonight and leaving out the reindeer food and cookies for Santa 🎅
