Our hearts and thoughts are with the House of Ariki as they laid to rest our Māori Kingii.
Kingii Tūheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero te Tuawhitu on Taupiri Maunga, next to his mother and father.

As the nation mourns his absent there was a beautiful time of celebration as we welcomed the decision by the Tekau ma rua the council of Chiefs to name the next monarch of te iwi Māori.

Kia Ora whānau

Yes it's that time of the year where I set goals and smash them. This foundation mahi has been successful because of the mahi and support from community donations and community volunteers who are equally passionate and eager in serving others like me.

That's why this year will be extra special as i will be hanging up the apron and hopefully a special someone will be trained throughout 2024 to take over the operations.

But 2023 isn't over, and I'm on a mission to serve. So share away....... I also have some awesome prizes donated by some whānau that I will be giving away to the person who shares and likes this post. One winner for each social media area. And hash tag

Before Uncle Iwi is away on a well deserved working holiday he will be ensuring he has everything ready for all of you too enjoy the 1hr class.

Why did I become a wedding celebrant?

I became a celebrant so I could participate in my whānau and friends special day, without being apart of the bridal party or the whaikorero guy.

What kind of weddings do you like to do?

I love all Weddings, but I must say I love the surprise Weddings more, as the guest arrive to the venue for something other than a wedding.
Those are so rewarding.

What has been the most memorable wedding?

A couple in their 70s rang to ask if I could do their wedding, I said of cause. 5 days before their wedding they rang to postpone it due to a tangihanga of their mokopuna.

5 mins later I get a phonecall from their good church friend to see if I could marry them before they leave to the tangihanga.

I said yes of cause as long as there are 2 witnesses we can proceed.

I will never forget the reaction on their faces
Priceless but thankful.
