"Overall, staying in sunlover and choosing it as our wedding location was the best decision. It was an unforgettable experience that we are highly recommending to everyone who is thinking of eloping in the beautiful Coromandel.

It was a perfect intimate ceremony. Everything was prepared for us and we didn't have to worry about anything. On the wedding day, the team arrived and worked very organically (make up, photographer, celebrant and witnesses). We loved the flowers and food platter. Everyone was very attentive to our requests to make it our special day. The car was a nice surprise.

Our stay was great. The view was exceptional, and we liked the authentic style of the house. There is a good selection of books to read. We were happy to find Netflix on the television and got to our usual streaming while having breakfast. The hot tub is one of our favourites.

We recently had our elopement wedding at Sunlover retreat and I am trying to find words that do our experience justice.
From the moment we arrived we were in aww. Donna welcomed us with glasses of ice water and refreshing cold flannels on a hot hot day. From there on things got better and better the accommodation was so beautiful private and clean and every day we were treated to an abundance of fresh fruit and Donna's freshly baked bread.
Donna married us a Ocean beach with an very special ceremony. Donna and her husband Chris who drove me to the beach to my wedding, are the most loving caring people who go out of their way to make you feel special. A huge thank you to both.

3 weddings over the month of December. A beautiful elopement and 2 officiating as celebrant. I just love that couples are still stepping up and saying 'I do' in these challenging times. Love is in the air!!

I had the absolute pleasure of marrying Claire and Tom on New Years Eve. What a way for them to end 2021! Here's what they had to say:

Tom and I were recommended Donna as a celebrant via a Tairua community page. We married during a small ceremony at our bach in Tairua. Donna made the day even more special! Really, just about anything can be arranged for your intimate elopement. In this instance, a beautiful cake made for two by Cakes by the Ocean Tairua. Ordered by Mum based in the UK. It was such a beautiful gift to present and such a surprise for the happy couple!

With it being such uncertain times for many, a beautiful getaway for two with all the normal trimmings of a wedding, really hits the spot. Getting married in this relaxed, economical way, leaves room for the bride and groom to have a party with loved ones and friends when they are ready.
