Heading to in Wellington in 2 days with this lightbox artwork and 18 others squeezed into my car.. fingers crossed the ferry is running, I don’t pass out from hypo ventilating and I manage to hang my art by myself without smashing any of it.

The key to a good installation is to make it look like it’s just grown there like that, this was a meadow I created .. on a deck .. even the bee was convinced 😜. I absolutely love creating botanical sculptures!

So this is me in the moment .. I create all of the installations on site, it’s my favourite part of the whole wedding!! The bigger the installation the better, It’s like big botanical sculptures!

Hey!! So this is me.. the mad creator ( hiding) behind black swan botanicals ..
BREAKING NEWS…. I’ve just been accepted into the 2023 !!!! 😳😲.
Im unsure if I should pop the bubbles or throw up….
5 hours before the entry’s closed and after 2 x🍷 I hashed something together and entered …thinking “ ok f**k it.. I won’t get in… but I’ll just try”
I got in!!! I bloody got in!!
Ok s**t .. now I actually have to create some magic.. like seriously good magic…
Anyway my conundrum is … this new art pathway im on .. entering art awards and shows .. I can’t hide behind black swan I have to put my actual name on it… so .. what do I do with my social media?? Do I start a new account?? Noooo surely not …… do I separate out Blackswan and Fiona whiting artist ?? Is It all getting confusing under this one umbrella ???
God someone …help me …please

Those who know me … know I suffer from extremely crippling “I’m Not good enough” syndrome . I dream of being an artist … it’s what I want ..but for some reason I just can’t put myself out there.. I’m too terrified …I have all these ideas and I never actually achieve. I get so f**ked off with myself that I can’t just bloody do it!! Why can’t I just DO IT?? I’m 47.. and I still haven’t achieved . Wtf is wrong with me ???? Your such a looser .... I get stuck and I just can’t go any further .. I know it’s me that holds me back.. that’s the worst part..
well I finally did a thing .. almost vomiting I forced myself to enter a local art show.. at the very last minute ….. then went to the opening and couldn’t handle it so left after 5 minutes .. they looked so s**t…all I see are the flaws… so dissapointed I just last minute Larry’d it all together… but .. I entered and I did it. That in itself is huge for me ….I didn’t enter under a fake name .. even tho I really wanted too .. I didn’t hide behind …I put my actual name to it…

“It’s peaceful …there are people there but they are spirits, they are clear, and coloured .. like stain glass windows “
