🎄8 super easy ways to make your Festive Party ✨Fancier ✨
With the festive season fast approaching, the excitement is bubbling for all the parties, celebrations and joy. But the anxiety can be bubbling too - so much to squeeze in, and so much to compare to on social media if you’re hosting. If you’re hosting family lunch, in charge of the work end-of-year do, or just having friends over for drinks, here are 8 easy and affordable things you can do to make your event special.
1. Put your guests names on something. Whether it’s a simple place setting at the table, a paper crown or a gift bag, something personal will make your guests feel magical.
2. Print some photos. A cute way to decorate and spark conversation, print and hang pics from work, family or friends from throughout the year to reminisce on.
3. Light a Christmas candle. Smell is so evocative, so this is an easy way to get the festive feel without doing too much decorating.
4. Add some greenery. If you don’t have (or want) a full Christmas tree, some foraged greenery on tables and in vases adds freshness and Christmas cheer.
5. Curate your playlist. Don’t just chuck on a Spotify Christmas mix. Mix Christmas classics with songs your know your guests love. There is such thing as too much Snoopy’s Christmas.
6. Rethink your favours. For the same price as crackers, full of stuff that ends up the bin, you can get thoughtful favours people actually want, like seeds, nice soaps, or chocolates.
7. Elevate your non-alcoholics. Don’t make those not drinking feel like an afterthought, with lots of beautiful wine, cocktails, then a plastic tub of juice. Put non-alcoholic drinks in a nice jug, and add a slice of citrus or a sprig of herbs.
8. Jazz up your dress code. Instead of Christmas sweaters (especially in NZ summer), tell guests to wear something they feel fabulous in.
