• this waterfall can be found not far off the highway that links Wanaka to the west coast town of Haast. The river is ice cold, and crystal blue, with very wide banks covered in shaley volcanic rock that has been brought down from the tops of the southern alps.
The environment in these areas is super harsh, with high humidity and heavy, consistent rains. It’s also one of the only places in the world where you can stand on the beach and admire a lush green rainforest, then look slightly higher and be staring at mountain tops covered in snow.

⚠️ The new iPhones are solid cameras, but there is a big issue you should no about, specifically when editing.
This is an example of how new iPhone shots can look either really good or really bad:

There is no doubt the new Pro Res shooting mode is fantastic, and we should always be shooting in RAW, but when it comes to editing, especially with Lightroom, mobile or classic, you need to be paying major attention to one small setting that you may never have even used before.
In Lightroom, there is a tab called “Profiles”. By default on iPhones, when you shoot with RAW on, out of the native camera, you will automatically have this profile set to “Adobe Pro Raw”. This profile though will do awful things to your photos especially when adding presets. You can try and edit the profile as is, but it’s not easy and generally the photos don’t come out or react to edits the way they should. Hence the photo on the left vs the photo on the right.
This edit was done in a similar way, with the same preset, but the outcome was very different.
So what’s the fix?
It’s easy as. Hop into the profiles tab and change the profile from Pro RAW to one of the Adobe profiles (I generally use Landscape for more vibrant colors).
It’s that easy.
Then add presets as per usual, you may need to adjust your exposure here or there but overall it’s quite an easy fix and gives you way better results!

The iPhone 16 camera button is a game changer.
A phone has NEVER felt like a real camera, this button makes it that much better because now it feels like a camera.
You get the satisfaction of clicking the shutter button and I personally can’t wait for the half press to focus update.
