One of our favourite things about providing event management services is meeting new people and supporting them to acheive their event goals, adding value and hopefully leaving some improved systems for the future.

Plus it’s nice when they are super cool and to hear they had as much fun as you did!

What an amazing weekend!

Thanks to the RATS - Rotorua Association of Triathlon & Multisport Inc for having us on the team.

There is something special about supporting a volunteer club deliver an event. The passion is undeniable and infectious.

There we so many highlights, so many laughs and many new friends made and lots of old friends to be seen!

Awesome to be back in Rotorua one year on from the BMX World Cup, working with another great club. This time we are going back to our triathlon roots with RATS - Rotorua Association of Triathlon & Multisport Inc and Blue Lake Multisport Festival.

Another great club with such passion for grassroots sports.

Excited to be part of the legacy of this event with this year celebrating the 39th edition!

Rounding out our summer calendar we are heading back to our cycling era and have joined the exceptional team at Bicycle Revolution Cambridge to bring the 2025 Cambridge Cycling Festival to life.

Providing the platform for everyone in Cambridge to get on their bike we can’t wait to bring our experience to an already amazing community event.

**New contract news**

Entering our 2nd triathlon era this January as we take the reins as Event Manager for this iconic NZ triathlon, the Blue Lake Multisport Festival

Thanks to the RATS - Rotorua Association of Triathlon & Multisport Inc for bringing us on board. A great club doing great things for grassroots sports so stoked to be a part of this.

We are excited to start to announce our upcoming contracts as we support a number of fun and varied events over the summer!

First up, we are providing event management services to the The Great Kiwi Summer Festival.

The Great Kiwi Summer Festival brings together a variety of events to provide 2-days of family fun and entertainment on the shores of Lake Karapiro in Cambridge on 9 - 10 November. This year the festival will feature the Shaw's Illuminate Light and Sound Show, Hunting and Fishing Cambridge Outdoor Expo, Armistice in Cambridge and Franklin Park Freestyle Dreams presented by Fieldline.

Was lovely to receive a letter from UCI reflecting on the success of the UCI BMX World Cup, held in Rotorua in Feburary 2024 and specificialy the part that we played.

"The 2024 UCI BMX Racing World Cup series was a showcase of a world class sporting competition and was broadcast live around the world. Your Event Management skills were very well executed, leading a team of over 50 persons from Cycling New Zealand, BMX New Zealand and the Rotorua BMX club. It is not an easy
task to lead this number of people from differing backgrounds, ensuring they work together to achieve the successful outcomes, something that you took in your stride and executed in an exceptional manner over many months of preparation and then 7 days of the event. Your engagement with the key UCI stakeholders was on point from day one which is very much appreciated by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)"

Creating, nuturing and respecting relationships are key to the success of any event, at any level. Especially when you are in the priveledged position of being paid while an army of volunteers are right there with you the whole way.

Very grateful for the support of Norm from the UCI and the Volunteer LOC and club from Rotorua BMX Club.

This event still makes me smile over 6 months later :)

We were also chuffed to bits to receive the 2024 Power Award.

This award recognises a personal contribution from a member of the operational staff whose actions aligned to the Magic values of Heart, Power, Magic. In addition, they may have created new initiatives and/or have been innovative, has formed and maintained relationships across all areas of the franchise, introduced new people that have added value to our Magic programme. The recipient of this award should also demonstrate character values of integrity, can-do attitude, going over and above their role. They are experts in their roles and are well respected by all those in the Magic whanau. This award is voted on by their peers, team management and players.

As Home Game Event and Fan Experience Manager, we were recognised for created amazing experiences for the fans at their home games, quickly creating relationships with all of the stakeholders, welcoming both the Magic team and visiting teams with energy and enthusiasm - not to mention the epic 2024 arena call on.

This job takes a village, so credit to the entire organisation where everyone played their part and for their support for what was an epic season.

Last night we delivered the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic Awards night. A fantastic opportunity for the club to celebrate the 2024 season and to celebrate 25 years of Magic.

A wonderful night where they recognised the past, celebrated the present and looked to the future.

Venue was the amazing SkyCity Hamilton, Sound, Lights and Production by Limelight DJ Service, photos by Jess Bicknell Photographer, flowers by Pippins at Forget Me Not Florist, 360 photobooth HU&CO Party Hire, trophies Crown Badges, plants kindly borrowed from Amber Garden Centre and our master of ceremonies, Nigel Yalden Sports.

Offering specialist event expertise when and where you need it

8 games across 3 venues and the curtain comes down on our first regular season delivering home games for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic.

Together with the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic staff and players, our passionate team of contractors, venue staff and volunteers and support from Netball New Zealand, we have experienced a 53% increase in attendance from 2023 season, including a sell out at Mercury Baypark in Tauranga and over 3000 turning up for our 25th anniversary game at Globox Arena, H3 Group NZ.

Its been great to learn about a new sport but also to add value by bringing our experience from other sports to Netball to grow and enchance the fan experience.

The season is not over with 2 away games to come with the team fighting hard for a place in the finals. Lets go Magic!

It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of this team that brought the UCI BMX Racing BMX World Cup NZ to life.

An event 10 years in the dreams of many.

An event delivered on 95% volunteer power.

Hats off to all those who stepped up and showed the world what we can do. To all the partners, sponsors, volunteers, contractors and suppliers who were with us along the way. We hope you all know that you were part of something special and share in our pride.
