Last night I took for a wee spin around the block. We wound up at the local hall!

Te Rehunga hall has been a staple in our community for over a hundred years. Housing Weddings, 21sts, 30ths, bingo nights, and even the local line dancers!
Oh, if the walls could talk they would have a thing or two to say!

Of course it wouldn't be what it is today without the epic bunch of people that are and have taken care of it all these years!

It was the perfect spot to take some snaps of The Katydids pride and joy. And it just goes to show with the right tools you can make any venue into an absolute wonderland!

📢  LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF 📢

How ya doing??

I'm Kate. Eversince I was a kid, family, teachers and friends have called me Katydid 🦗
I am a Helicopter Engineer by trade in the big smoke of Auckland. But I spend a lot of my time in my country hometown of Dannevirke

Those who know me well, know that I love to celebrate! 🍾🍾🍾 
I am a firm believer that especially in a world turned on its head by covid EVERYTHING should be celebrated.
Birthdays, Christmases, achievements big and small, weddings, hen dos (I've even been on the odd stag do 😅).

So when I got to pondering a side hustle, as we all do, the idea of event hire came to me. Because what could possibly make me happier than helping people to get together with family and friends to celebrate all things big and small.

And so The Katydid Collective is born!
