OLYMPIC FEVER - for the athletes and any support crew that's lucky enough to attend, this is massive. And for all of us at home who wasn't sweep up in the emotion when Hayden Wilde was interviewed after coming 3rd in the triathlon - it certainly gave me a lump in my throat and bought a cry to my eye.

Events - no matter the size, the scale, the reason or the 'why' we love them. We are an emotional bunch us humans and we love celebrating. And that's exactly why we have created Hooley - because parties and events are just gold (or bronze if we follow the theme of the day🥰😃)

We love cool kiwi businesses and Backyard Games Ltd is definitely on the Cool List.
If you're an event planner, love large outdoor games, own a venue offering games on the lawn, or just host lots of parties, then you need to keep these guys handy - the makers for natural wood co****le and kubb games.
Co****le is a game sweeping the country. It's a lawn game in which players take turns throwing soft corn filled bags at a raised platform (board) with a hole in the far end.
These are for purchase, however, if you're in the Bay of Plenty, there is now the option to hire.

This is a long post, so bear with me.
On the 16th March the lovely Casey-lee Tuck reached out to her local community to help her neighbours Sophie and Kei get married. A young couple with 2 little children and Kei is very unwell with Liver Cancer.
Boy, did this community really came together. We were all so touched by their story and I'd like to take the opportunity to thank all those that made their day on the 1st May a day they will never forget
Miss Mandys Flower Emporium - Amanda graciously offered her beautiful rustic flower barn as a venue. And it was perfect. When its not flower picking season, her venue is still the perfect place for small events
Absolute Party Hire delivered 8 tables, 64 chairs and tablecloths. Thank you so much
Light Viking Darcia provided a very cool large lit up S & K for our couple. Was beautiful near the dance floor
Bdazzlednz Balloons created a beautiful balloon picture frame for guest photo opportunities
Prestige Loos Limited provided a twin executive portable loo
Sharni Dysart Photographer was an amazing photographer who captured a love story with all the emotion that this wedding brought
Hand-Picked provided a beautiful bouquet and Tasha Edwardes provided the beautiful flowers on the tables
Hair was done by a family friend Justine Sutton
Make-up by the lovely La Lumiere NZ Makeup Artistry
Manicure by De Lux Beauty of Cherrywood
And the brides dress was from Pania Valarie Johnstone It was stunning

One of the highlights for Kei was the amazing car that was provided by Tom Davis - a 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
And it doesn't stop

The Event Girl provided to the most amazing grazing table. Definitely a business to support

And the call was put out to create the most amazing dessert table and so many beautiful people and businesses put their hands up:

Good Gracious High Tea - Denise - those lemon tarts were perfect
Rachael Arthur, Emma Bennett, Romina Agüero, and Chaelene Von Brause - these beautiful women produced the most amazing treats that made the dessert table become one of the best dessert tables I've ever seen

Everyone here was absolutely amazing and we are all privileged to be able to help Sophie and Kei bring their beautiful day together.

Finding a caterer to take on the cost of feeding 80 people was a big ask for the wedding of a beautiful couple who want to get married but have so many challenges ahead of them.
So the vision was to create a dessert platter of bite sized treats and we've had some amazing support here.
I'd like to give a shout out to Seaview Bakers who have provided 4 delicious flavours of their world famous brownie - fudge, mint, coconut and raspberry. What a beautiful gesture and so kind. She's the queen of delicious brownie so definitely check her out when looking for a delicious treat at your next event (her listing is in the comments)
And another fabulous business who is supporting this lovely couple is Denise from Good Gracious High Tea who is also taking time out of her business to whisk up from beautiful tarts. Denise makes beautiful high teas for smaller sized events with all the trimmings including beautiful china.

You may all remember Hooley put a call out to the community to offer support for a young family wanting to get married before the husband's health fails. Well, you guys came through and this week I'd like to promote these Hooley Super Stars who are helping this young couple get married.
First up is Absolute Party Hire. Laurence and the team are providing 8 x 2.4m long tables and 64 chairs for the weekend. Thank you Laurence, with such short notice you came through with a super speedie positive response
