The building of the table arrangement for the Christmas challenge. Prepare all your materials and then add symmetrically i.e. if you put a piece of foliage on the left, put a similar sized one of the right. Build it up and fill in any gaps then add your extra bits like flowers, cones or baubles. Have fun.
I took this video this morning and thought I’d share. Part 1.
The anemones tend to open and close at night and I’ve been putting this one to bed in the laundry as it’s cooler in there. I recorded this gorgeous wake up the other morning.
When it’s time to tidy up the raspberry canes, it’s handy that I grew up on a kiwifruit orchard and have inherited my own tapener.
Happy Matariki everyone. Our greater whanau spends a lot of time watching the sky and comparing sunsets and sunrises in the North vs South Island. So while I don’t have any stars for you, this is a lovely sunset from June 13th I recorded.
Check out these bad boys! I’m notoriously bad at starting seeds. Last year I had them outside and they all blew away in a crazy nor west wind. I thought I’d try these peat pots this year and keep them in a safer spot. Of course I’ve missed autumn sowing and it’s too early for spring but I’m busting to get started.
Luckily this was just the empty seed pods not the container with the seeds!
Over the weekend I gathered the seeds from the poppy heads I’d collected. They’ve now been sprinkled about the place with a good luck wish!
A bit of outside floral design on Sunday morning. The trick to the process is in being prepared beforehand. You need your foliage, some feature flowers and supporting flowers, and some textural variations. Then just build it up.
A Joy Delivery in the making. I’ll get the camera more centred next time 😊
The bumblebees seem to particularly like the poppies.
Super impressed with the light displays around Geraldine. Here’s a teaser video of the craft pack. 😊
What a joyous start to the morning with the musicians and this vista out the window.
