MAKE YOUR VIPS FEEL SPECIAL

We had the honour of helping a gorgeous couple make their wedding ceremony VIP guests feel very welcome and special. To do this, we created chair sashes that matched the bridesmaid dresses and decorated them with large champagne and white floral swags.

We repurposed the flowers from A & B's ceremony to create a spiral of flowers to frame their cake. It was a great backdrop for all those "cutting the cake" photos.

MEADOW FLORALS

Here at LLFC, I like to think it's the little things we do for our wonderful clients that make the difference.

For the loveliest couple D & O, they really wanted fresh florals on their big day. The problem was, their date fell when the flower markets were closed.

I agreed to work with whatever florals they could forage from their friend's gardens, supplemented with whatever I had in mine.

We created these absolutely gorgeous trays of meadow-style arrangements which were whimsical, delicate and full of interesting and unusual flowers.

A huge congratulations to D & O on their recent marriage. You both deserve all the very best for your future.

To A & B for their recent wedding at the Wellington Rowing Club, followed by a reception

It was an absolute pleasure working with such a lovely couple, and I LOVED their bright, bold, and joyous colour palette. Pink and orange are a favourite combination of mine - it's s so energetic and fun. These colours were paired with black to add a touch of sophistication.

HANGING INSTALLATIONS

Want to add a WOW factor to your Reception? Consider having a hanging floral installation running the length of your table(s). One large, high-impact floral feature is, to my mind, money better spent than several small floral arrangements dotted around your venue.

This fresh and dried flower installation was created for T&B's wedding. As the festivities were taking place over a few days, we included three rattan lampshades with battery-operated pendant bulbs. With a flick of a switch, the marquee was transformed from a formal, luncheon venue to a hang-out/party space.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS

To Natasha and Will on their recent wedding

It was our absolute pleasure to transform one of the Hotel's rooms into the most romantic, magical, fairytale space.

Working alongside , all the walls were draped in white, with fairy light curtains hung along the wall behind the wedding arch. Overhead were white chiffon swags and more fairy lights, with flowers and candles lining the aisle.

SO GRATEFUL

I'm so fortunate that I get to work with the most amazing, lovely people. All the hard work is worth it when I see the look of joy on faces when our designs are revealed. Receiving such lovely messages is then the icing on the cake.

Figuring out what to do next can be daunting. AT LLFC, you are more than welcome to have a FREE initial consultation/chat with me.

Usually, our first step will be to communicate either via email or DM. I might then send you brochures explaining the services LLFC can offer. We'll then arrange a time to chat, either in person on via Zoom.

During this chat, we are likely to roam all over the place, touching on your vision, the size and style of your wedding, venues, caterers, etc. I'll offer support and suggestions along the way.

After our chat, you can then decide if you'd like to work with me and my team, or simply take what you've learned from our chat and head off on your own path.

One of the best parts of wedding and event design is helping my lovely clients figure out ways to add touches of their personality, heritage, and identity into their design.

For fabulous A & S, I used batik fabric from A's birth country to create a unique signing table for their wedding. It created a stunning focal point and added a lot of meaning for them.

GREENERY WEDDING ARCH

Recently I chatted about greenery-only reception florals. So today, I thought I'd share an idea for a greenery-only wedding arch. This cutie was created for a gorgeous styled shoot at the Wellington SPCA. All the amazing contributors are listed below.

For this arch, LLFC designed a fabric backdrop using taupe patterned linen and dreamy white voille. The backdrop was then draped with ivy. I don't know about you, but I adore ivy. I have it growing everywhere at my place and it gets foraged on a regular basis for projects.

The best collaboration comes when those involved share common values. That's why I think its important to share our business values on a regular basis.

One of our most important values is integrity. One way we strive to achieve this is to provide advice that puts you (not us) first. For example, as a faux flower specialist, I could push you into only hiring faux flowers, but if you love fresh florals, then I'll help you find a way to have fresh. This might be by mixing faux and fresh if your budget is a challenge. It might be combining foraged and foraged fresh florals.

If you hire the services of LLFC, you can be sure that you will be listened to and that we will provide advice that serves you and your needs.

Greenery (whether fresh or faux) looks stunning by itself. The trick is to mix lots of different textures and shades of green to create interest and movement.

This fresh table-edge garland was created from foraged greenery, which meant that not only did it look stunning, but it was more sustainable and great value, too.

CLASSIC PLACESETTING

I loved creating this classic look for the gorgeous J & M. Green and white with a touch of gold and marble.

We designed a menu card that slipped into the napkin, adding a twist on the usual presentation. The personalised marble coasters were a great way of combining wedding favours and place cards. A little sprig of olive finished everything off.

What's the key to a wedding that feels authentic? Collaboration. I love it when couples create parts of their wedding and I merge them into an overall design. That way, they get to feel the satisfaction of hands-on involvement without the stress and overwhelm.

The gorgeous Alison designed her own graphics, and we turned that into her welcome display. Yay. Best of both worlds.

I love Sweetheart Tables. They not only give you a perfect opportunity for some time together as newly weds, but they allow you to splurge on your floral and decor dreams when it may be out of budget to do the same for a full Wedding Party Table.

I had a Sweetheart Table at my wedding and I loved the intimacy and opportunity to look out at our favourite people as a couple and take in the sheer joy of our day.
