Let’s start with a simple answer to an unasked question, marriage is not founded in religion. All around the world, in every area, in every religion, or absence of, there is some kind to joining of couples in a marriage like arrangement, so no one religion started or “owns” marriage.

Just finished my final wedding of the year. Taking a break to concentrate on being a Lactation Consultant. Will happily do weddings for couples I know, like this one.
P.S. the gin, Juniper Berry, and ginger cocktails at The Boatshed are STRONG.

I'm taking a break. No longer actively working as Rachel Dudfield Celebrant. Busy with full time work, antenatal classes, and more study.* Happy to come out of retirement for people I know!!!

I am blown away by the talent and detail in this couple's wedding day outfits. I've once had a talented seamstress sewn her own gown and that was beautiful too.

Times are certainly changing. I now have a full time job.... and Covid. I'm missing a weekend away with friends, kapa haha performance in our new office opening ceremony, and a 2 day marae trip to Auckland for my work/ study. No weddings though.

I had a Cher themed wedding booked for tomorrow. But I don't feel well.

I'm bewitched, bothered, and bewildered. All I really want to do is be their celebrant tomorrow. But I'm not strong enough. It's not going to be a disaster cake: I sent out an SOS to all the gypsies, tramps and thieves and I found someone to rescue me. She's a superstar! I'm over the moon that Caroline can step in. So tomorrow as A & K get married: don't hide your love. Give it all or nothing. You haven't seen the last of me.

P.S. May have found a second use for my amazing dress.

When today's bride is pregnant it it my two world's colliding. Add in my role as a Health Coach and Rapid Antigen Testing it's my three world's colliding. Everyone has tested negative to Covid... so the wedding is going ahead.
