I am a registered celebrant living in Auckland, and it would give me great pleasure to create a ceremony specially for you. I care about people and listen to them so that I can interpret their hopes and wishes to ensure that they get what they want, personal to them. Each ceremony tells a unique story and I will do this in a caring, creative and sensitive way. I am professional in my approach, hav

ing completed the Certificate in Celebrant Studies. I have worked with mixed nationalities and people with many different beliefs, and from many different backgrounds over the years. This has made me open minded and able to deal with a multitude of situations. I am happy to officiate at marriages, name giving ceremonies, renewal of vows, anniversaries, blessings, civil unions, memorials or unveilings. One of the greatest ways of expressing love and commitment is through words. Over the years I have written poems and stories, and my ability would help me craft together a very special ceremony for you. Each ceremony would tell your unique story in a caring, creative and sensitive way. For non NZ residents, I am legally permitted to solemnise your marriage and you only need to be in NZ three days prior to the wedding.

The National Executive pays tribute to the Queen upon learning of her death this morning

Queen Elizabeth II has died while in service to her country, having just formally appointed the 15th British Prime Minister, since her ascension to the throne in 1952.

The longest reigning monarch, she has served her country for over 70 years. We express our condolences to her family whom she loved loyally.

A woman of deep faith and conviction she was deeply human, with her well-known love for her horses and corgis.

Queen Elizabeth was much-loved having the ability to connect warmly and authentically as she talked with people around the world in the course of her public duties.

Tributes have poured in from past and present heads of state for her grace, generosity, wisdom, strength and constancy. She will be missed.

Her life of service to her country is inspiring and legendary and words cannot do enough honour to that. It is not only the end of a chapter. It is the end of an era.

At 96 years of age, her life has spanned generations and represents a legacy of history that has unfolded. She has seen change across the course of her lifespan that defies the imagination.

Queen Elizabeth, Celebrants Aotearoa honours your spirit and your life of service and we give thanks for all you have offered and given throughout your life. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Do light a candle today in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth, uniting us in spirit with all who mourn this loss.

Rachel Clarke VCANZ
National President Celebrants Aotearoa New Zealand

After 8 years I have decided not to renew my registration this year as an independent marriage celebrant. This means that from the end of October 2022 I will not be able to legally officiate at wedding ceremonies.
BUT I will still be available for naming ceremonies, vow renewals, specials birthdays and special anniversaries. I choose not to do funerals and memorials.
It's been an absolute privilege to be part of so many couples' special day.

Expectations for wedding ceremonies are changing. Instead of 'the big white wedding', a lot of couples prefer a more personal, small and relaxed day.
The Terraces Restaurant located in the grounds of St Andrew's Village, Glendowie, focuses on small, intimate occasions. It is located in park like grounds with water views of the Tamaki River. I have dined at the Terraces and the food is delicious, the service is impeccable, with an excellent selection of drinks.

I found this menu tucked in with mum's things. It's from my wedding in 1981. What's interesting is that it was $10 per person and look what you got for that!
Mum, always the chocoholic, added 'chocolate log' in her handwriting.
The reception was at the Parnell Rose Gardens, 57 guests.

I made this red velvet cake a few years ago for a very dear friend's 40th wedding anniversary (ruby). This year it was another very dear friend's 50th anniversary (golden) and her family sent her this quote. She loved it and passed it on to me. I love it and would like to share it with you on Valentine's Day.

"I saw that you were perfect and so I loved you. I saw that you were not perfect and I loved you even more". - Angelita Lim.

This couple had already postponed their wedding twice so decided to quickly go ahead. Many couples are having to make difficult decisions including our lovely niece, who’s getting married Waitangi weekend. 💕

Stef and Danyon Cuneen had already put their wedding off twice before they heard the Omicron announcement and decided to accelerate their plans.

It was a very small wedding on Monday, at the bride's home. The bride is Filipino and her parents were watching from the Philippines. Sadly their town was struck by the recent typhoon, they had no internet so had to go to a hotel to watch. They are coping with COVID and the aftermath of a typhoon. We take so much for granted in New Zealand.
Laurice and Sorrenson are planning a big wedding celebration party with all their family, hopefully next year. 💕
