The National Executive pays tribute to the Queen upon learning of her death this morning
Queen Elizabeth II has died while in service to her country, having just formally appointed the 15th British Prime Minister, since her ascension to the throne in 1952.
The longest reigning monarch, she has served her country for over 70 years. We express our condolences to her family whom she loved loyally.
A woman of deep faith and conviction she was deeply human, with her well-known love for her horses and corgis.
Queen Elizabeth was much-loved having the ability to connect warmly and authentically as she talked with people around the world in the course of her public duties.
Tributes have poured in from past and present heads of state for her grace, generosity, wisdom, strength and constancy. She will be missed.
Her life of service to her country is inspiring and legendary and words cannot do enough honour to that. It is not only the end of a chapter. It is the end of an era.
At 96 years of age, her life has spanned generations and represents a legacy of history that has unfolded. She has seen change across the course of her lifespan that defies the imagination.
Queen Elizabeth, Celebrants Aotearoa honours your spirit and your life of service and we give thanks for all you have offered and given throughout your life. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Do light a candle today in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth, uniting us in spirit with all who mourn this loss.
