I became a registered Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant in December 2009. I really love my job and put my heart and soul into my work. Couples often aren't aware of what is possible when it comes to their ceremony, when in reality there is huge scope for ideas and personalisation. The actual legal elements are quite small. We want a pop-up wedding down at our local. We want spontaneous elements, live music and guest participation. We want lots of heart, but also lots of fun.
I'm in!!!!
This wedding was a highlight of my season. I could go on and on about it, but mostly I want to thank this beautiful couple for believing in me. For believing that I was the celebrant who could help bring their vision alive. It was a VERY special occasion for everyone.

In the past week, we opened this show and now it's SOLD OUT 😁, I've moved house, our team has move classroom at school, and I welcomed home our son from a big overseas trip.

Every wedding I learn something new, even all these years later.
Years ago, I made a terrible mistake with a groom's buttonhole. It had been placed too high up his lapel so I went to move it. The rosebud snapped off. Argh!!!! Luckily, I had some extra pins with me so I could put it back together, of a sorts. So, I went home and watched youtube clips and practiced until I was confident I would never make that mistake again. I felt so bad about the buttonhole, but wasn't quite sure how to address it with the couple afterwards. Today, I would ask the couple how I could make things right for them.
