Over at Flora Flora we have a solid no floral foam policy. You may be wondering why this green stuff is so bad, so here’s the info you need to know so you can make an informed decision when you buy from a florist.
1. It’s plastic in disguise. Microplastics. They break down into tiny particles that leach into the water and soil, harming wildlife and ecosystems 🐛🐢 2. Don’t let the green colour fool you!! It’s not biodegradable and sticks around for centuries!!! 3. It contains chemicals like formaldehyde which can be harmful to your health. Especially given its crumbly texture. 4. Better alternatives exist- and they’re not more expensive!! We love using chicken wire (which we can reuse for events time and time again), muhlenbeckia (might have to google this one if you’re not knowledgeable in plants!! It’s Natures chicken wire! We also love using moss and flower frogs.

M and P were so trusting with their vision which gave us so much creative freedom to provide the most gorgeous arrangements made from locally sourced blooms. This table runner features no floral foam and is sustainably made from reusable mechanics.
