We express our deepest sorrow upon learning about the passing of Lady June Hillary, the beloved wife of Sir Edmund Hillary. This loss is not only a tremendous blow to New Zealand but also to Nepal, as the bond between these two nations has been fortified by the remarkable achievements of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, the trailblazers who conquered the summit of Mount Everest.
Throughout Sir Edmund Hillary's adventurous pursuits, including the historic Everest expedition, Lady June Hillary played an invaluable role as his steadfast support system. Her unwavering dedication and love undoubtedly contributed to his triumphs and the subsequent harmonious relationship between New Zealand and Nepal.
Sir Edmund Hillary's accomplishments have not only brought immense pride to New Zealand but also to Nepal, where his legacy is revered and celebrated. The loss of Lady June signifies yet another significant setback for both countries, as she embodied strength, resilience, and unity.
