During our Pip Edwards Business & Wellness lunch, one popular element was our health panel discussion with Dr. Ula Heywood, who focuses on precision medicine and Charlotte Hill of True North, combining mind, body and soul in Human Design profiling together with Pip and her personal experiences.

Below are some of the topics covered:

1. Changes in the Female Body Over Time: The discussion highlighted the various physiological changes women experience throughout their lives, particularly during the transition around perimenopause & menopause.

2. Perimenopause and Menopause: Specific issues related to perimenopause and menopause were addressed, including the symptoms that can affect focus and mental clarity, as shared by Pip, who experienced these challenges in her early 40s.

Ula also described a list of symptoms that can set in during your 30s, like frozen shoulder, joint pains or difficulty healing from an injury, which is often missed as perimenopause symptoms.

3. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): The panel explored the benefits and considerations of HRT as a treatment option for managing menopause symptoms.

4. Diet and Exercise: The importance of adjusting diet and exercise routines as women age was emphasized. The shift from primarily cardio exercises to incorporating weight/strength training was noted, particularly due to the natural loss of muscle mass that occurs with aging. Women also need a lot more protein in their diet during this time.

5. Mind-Body Connection: The discussion also delved into the significance of aligning mental and physical health, and how you can do so exercising and eating right but how you need to get your mind in the right place too for a healthy existence.

6. ⁠Human Design Profiling helps you understand yourself better and why you make the decision you make. Pip told us how and why she has done her profile.

Last night we celebrated Diwali at the stunning premises of Meredith Connell in collaboration with MC & BNZ. We enjoyed listening to Sumant Khedkar explaining the significance of Diwali and the traditions and rituals around it. Then Carmen Vicelich inspired us with her very successful entrepreneurial journey and love of India and its people.

We enjoyed incredible nice desserts from Park Hyatt, for those after these pieces of deliciousness, book in for their award-winning afternoon tea.

Brent Sutcliffe showcased stunning and colourful jewellery as tradition has, Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth is covered in jewels and we do like to do what we can to oblige her at this important time!

We wish to welcome Parihoa, a unique place of stunning beauty, situated high on cliffs overlooking the Tasman Sea. Covering 711 acres including 5km of ocean frontage, it is only 40 minutes from downtown Auckland but with a special energy all of its own.

Parihoa has a collection of houses, the main Chapman House, The Cottage, The Pods, The Glasshouse and The Gatehouse, all with their own special touch and feeling. Parihoa’s mission is to build an international wellness network with its main hub at Parihoa and we are very excited to be part of that journey.
