Our Story

Sweet As Crêpes began 13 years ago when an ambitious twelve-year-old girl called Annabel Shepherd set up a stall at the very first Coatesville Market north of Auckland. The name Sweet As Crêpes was a play on words incorporating Annie’s own initials. The logo was originally pink and gold with a little heart.

The single crêpe maker and a queue each week soon grew into a small family business, now run by Lisa Shepherd.

Sweet As Crêpes specializes in making fresh French crêpes on the spot. Some people enjoy just watching us “twirl” the batter into a large, thin crêpe; most cannot resist having a taste; many come back regularly for more and enjoy the benefits of our loyalty card.
