The Cake Eating Company Short Video
Donut worry, be happy ... I sure was in this shoot for The Cake Eating Company and of course there was lots of taste testing, the donut of the day was soooooo delicious. I felt a little like Gollum when I had to share them with my family 😅 The team here really do know how to bake!
As part of the project for Larnac Manuka honey, we wanted a film that would showcase the process - from the manuka blossoming in its pristine New Zealand locations, to the frenetic hives, to the processing plants and to the final incredible product. This was one of my favourite commercial projects so far. 🏔️ 🐝
Before we went on holiday I had an extended family session with the Watson Family at the trusty Ashburton Domain. These guys were a laugh! They had some fun with it, and I absolutely love when families show their personalities and can get a bit silly for the camera!

Ashburtons beloved Cleavers Corner. I was there recently photographing the staff + their new menu (drool worthy of course!) and we created this short reel at the same time. The hardest thing about photographing food is that you really just want to eat it all (and try allll the cocktails!)
A little while ago I was hired by Grassroots Dairy Management Graduate Programme to capture some marketing images and footage of the team during a module on a local farm. The Dairy Grads programme chooses 20 lucky applicants who have graduated with a university degree recently and provides a pathway into the dairy sector by giving them the opportunity to learn and grow through 25 paid modules with experts in the field. It's a fantastic idea and it was great to see and hear about it first hand from this years students.
Born and raised as a townie, the farming industry seems like a big unknowable world to me, but I'm grateful that opportunities like these come along, so I can learn just that little more about this other world - the one that feeds us all! Applications for the 2024 programme are open now.
This was another shoot from that weekend that we had galeforce winds. We shifted it from the Saturday to the Sunday, in the hopes that it would be better and we were right! We needed to time it for after the rugby semi final, and lucky that we did, litterally 10 minutes before the session it was still raining heavily. It stopped as the session time came around and then the sun shone for us! When you are doing extended family sessions, sometimes you just have to roll the dice and go for it, as it can be really hard to get everyone together again when you all come from different parts of the country (or world!)
Family sessions are still one of my absolute favourite things to shoot. You just never know what will happen but it's always so much fun! The Rushton family met me at the domain for a Spring mini session a couple of weeks ago, and the kiddos were such a laugh. It's hard to believe how days the time has gone since we did their newborn sessions!
On Thursday I covered the Mid-Canterbury's Women in Business Night Out. Created by Rushton Marketing with the talented Tenika Reihana as the key note speaker, it was such an awesome night. I always enjoy these nights, I run into a lot of women that I've photographed over the years and I of course I get to meet new people too. It's always inspiring to see a room filled with women who are chasing their dreams and building something amazing.
