I've been in the Philippines the past 9 days photographing One World Music performers at the Philippines Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. What a heart centred nation! I was surrounded by a brilliant team of performers, musicians, organisers and events management and was looked after incredibly well. Thank you to my good friend Clinton Mann for making this happen, and to the incredible performers and people I photographed - Love Maria, Danny Denniss, DJ Ayel (PH), DJ Deon, Smiley Lucylu Xavier, RocketBoodie. What a great team you all are.

I've been asked if I'm putting out a 2023 calendar, and after spending the past few days designing, I've come up with TWO different calendar collections. An Equine Collection and a NEW Floral Collection, for people who love flowers more than horses!!!

This is my friend Jan with her horses Sherlock and Porthos. Porthos is the grey, a Kaimanawa rescued from last year’s Kaimanawa Horse Muster. This year’s muster is in three weeks, with only three applications received. They still need another 147 homes. It’s a big ask during these times I know. Can you make a difference? Never lose sight of creating magic for YOURSELF. We are creative beings. A well known NZ photographer once asked me, "what do you photograph just for YOU"? Of course, that was easy, it was always the horses! But things started changing slightly, the more pressure I put on myself to perform. Our current lockdown has again shown me how much I had forgotten about photographing horses for my own pleasure... with no expectations, no time limits, no agendas, no perfection required. Photographing for me represents connection, love, being in the present moment, joy... and I deducted that if I wasn't feeling joy, it didn't mean it wasn't there... it meant that I had to rediscover it and find it again. If you've lost your joy, how about finding one thing to 'create' today.

This coming season I’ll be at Blue Blood Equine filming all the behind the scenes of a newborn foal and the experience they receive with the wonderful team there.

We are so excited to be teaming up again with Marie Richards to give you all the behind the scenes experience of a newborn foal at BBE this season. Marie will be capturing footage of "The Foal's First Day" with our team. From birth, to our critical veterinary checks on the foal and mare as we tick off all their neonatal and postnatal milestones.
Our gentle methods allow the mare and foal to bond naturally and set them up for less complications down the track. This is especially important if you're considering whether to rebreed your mare in the same season.
You will also see some amazing handling of our older babies as they learn the ropes with Vanessa Randell whom we are blessed to work with. Vanessa quietly works with each foal's unique requirements to introduce halters, connection with leading, rugs and farrier treatments.
We will be providing commentary to answer all your frequently asked questions but feel free to let us know if you have a particular question you would like answered (you have a few months to get organised 😂).
