We've all had a fabulous day, with private lessons taking place this afternoon too.

Sue Tytler our manager secured $42k in funding drom Trust House to reroof the Sheep Pavillion. The Times Age did a great story on our goal of reroofing this great and historic facility. We will need to raise more funds to complete the job so if you have any ideas or wish to donate, please contact Sue.

Today, with a fair bit of trepidation the Solway team had a look at the damage to the Historic Hereford Sheds at the Masterton A and P Solway showgrounds. Quite a bot of the roofs of two of the big shed were torn off and scattered to the 4 winds. The grounds team made the area safe as possible but it is off bounds to the public. We all breathed a sigh of relief to discover the Ram Rostrum or Sheep Pavillion is still intact as we have just discovered it is the last of its type in the Southern Hemisphere! The Hereford buildings are insured but there is some damage to some other buildings as well. If you would like to donate to the repair efforts, then our bank account is 01-0682 0008818-00 we would really appreciate it. Thanks and hope all our rural and urban members are safe. We will keep you posted on what will happen next.
Hope everyone is okay out there in this crappy storm. Two of our buildings have not fared so well. Mike our grounds man will check tomorrow and I will pay a visit. Sue has contacted our insurers as well.

Crikey we cant wait to get back to level 2. Our grounds are wonderful at this time of the year and we now have the most wonderful addition of the contemplation seat donated by our extraordinary Home industry stalwarts. Probably one the best places in Masterton to sit and ponder life.

We had a great visit from members of the Wellington Historical Places Trust and local members of the Wairarapa Historical group. We both shared lots of info about our lovely Trades Hall 1, which was built by American Marines in WW2.
