On December 12-13, we were pleased to welcome Charles Hay MVO, FCDO Director for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, to Papua New Guinea. He engaged in productive discussions with government departments, the UN, diplomatic partners and civil society organisations. Issues covered included UK-PNG bilateral relations, development challenges, climate change, conservation, PNG's 50th Independence Anniversary, and an update from the UN on the Bougainville peace process. Mr Hay's visit reinforces the UK's commitment to collaboration in the region and the importance of partnerships in tackling local, regional and global challenges.

Christmas in the Park festive celebrations, with the enchanting theme: Mystical Forest

We are thrilled to announce that this year, Port Moresby Nature Park will be hosting our Christmas in the Park festivities with the enchanting theme: Mystical Forest. The month-long celebration will run from December 10th to December 25th.

The core of our campaign, "Christmas in the Park," is to unite and inspire individuals, families, and corporate organizations to come together during the holiday season to enjoy and participate in a variety of Christmas-themed activities.

Throughout the Christmas in the Park festivities, a range of activities will be available at the park on weekdays and weekends. These include Santa's Workshop for kids aged 6 to 16, a choir competition, and a family fun day filled with entertainment.

Here is the schedule of events for the month of December:

- Christmas Choir Competition: December 10th to 15th, 10am to 2pm at Central Lawn.
- Santa's Workshop: December 16th to 20th, 10am to 1pm at Palm Grove.
- Kids & Family Fun Day: December 21st to 25th, 9am to 3pm.

In addition to these activities, we will also be giving away free trees during Christmas in the Park. Our goal is to promote reforestation, raise environmental awareness, and enhance the beauty of our capital city during the festive season.

🌏✨ A Taste of PNG at Nature’s Café! ✨🌴

We had the pleasure of catering to the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) and their guests from America, right here at the Port Moresby Nature Park. Our guests were treated to a ‘Taste of PNG’ buffet, showcasing the rich flavors and traditions of Papua New Guinea.

Our menu featured bite-sized delights, blending traditional PNG recipes with modern twists, all enjoyed on the Café Deck.

Highlights included:

🍰 Cassava Cake – A sticky, sweet treat from coastal regions, baked with coconut cream.
🍠 Taro Mona – Trobriand Island style - taro cooked in caramelized coconut milk.
🍌 Banana Tasting Plate – Delicious banana chips and bananas cooked in coconut milk.
🍓 Highlands Strawberries on Scones – Sweet scones topped with cream and locally grown strawberries.
🍩 PNG Flour Balls – served with Highlands honey and Queen Emma chocolate.

To complement the feast:
