🎉 A Big congratulations to Dr. Rachael Masta from Karun village in Manus Province! 🌟 Dr. Masta completed her specialist training in paediatrics [ Masters in Medicine Child Health ] and graduated in April this year (2024), marking an incredible achievement for both her and her community.
Dr Masta said “Growing up in an academic household my Dad was definitely the driving factor behind me becoming a doctor, I can remember his words to all his five daughters, you need to get a good job and be able to take care of yourself, I won’t be around forever 🥹
My decision to become a Pediatrician was definitely influenced by my seniors namely Professor John Vince and late Dr Wendy Pameh who carried themselves with such dignity and steered me in the direction of Child Health, a decision I have never regretted taking.
My advice to those wanting to achieve their dreams is a quote from Mother Theresa “Don’t look for big things, just do small things with great love” “
Dr. Masta is part of an incredibly inspiring family: all five children are girls and four of them are medical doctors (with two being specialist consultants). The fifth sister is currently completing her law degree.

The PNG ICT Cluster (The Silicon Valley of Papua New Guinea) and GIST (Global Innovation through Science & Technology), Business Link Pacific are meeting with the US Ambassador this morning to open another week and year of Investors Follow-on Training & Start-up Mentoring for the South Pacific.
Representing Papua New Guinea for the second time since it's inception are PNG Investors and entrepreneurs Winni Kula, Priscilla Kevin , and myself.
What is GIST?
Since 2011, the Global Innovation thru Science & Technology (GIST) Initiative has partnered with the private sector to train thousands of innovators at more than 100 events and has awarded more than USD$1.5 Million in start up resources.
GIST catalyzes start up solutions that address economic and development challenge thru networking, skills building, mentoring and access to financing. GIST provided training for over 15,000 start ups that have gone on to generate over USD$250 million in revenue. This is done through competitions, start up trainings, and interactive online programs.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE PALM SCHEME?
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme is the Australian Government program that brings workers to Australia for up to four years to work in occupations including agriculture, livestock, meat processing, hospitality and aged care. For Papua New Guinea, the PNG Labour Mobility Unit administers the program. It is a government-to-government program and you cannot participate without the approval and management of the PNG Labour Mobility Unit.
All recruitment goes through district and provincial administrations. Your first point of contact is your district or provincial administration, who can tell you what arrangements they have in place to help you participate on the PALM scheme.
More than 35,000 workers now participate in the PALM scheme and Papua New Guinea's presence is growing. This means more people are getting the opportunity to participate.
This flyer tells you about the process. It makes it very clear that ONLY the PNG Labour Mobility Unit can approve your participation and that it requires both local selection processes, an LMU selection process AND an employer selection process. You cannot buy your way to a job and anyone telling you that they can get you to Australia in the next few weeks is scamming you.
Please make sure you are talking to an authorised LMU representative. They will use a ".treasury.gov.pg" email address. Do NOT trust gmail addresses and do NOT trust anyone who approaches you directly about a job. These are all scams.
The PNG Labour Mobility Unit will never ask you for money. Anyone asking you to pay to a personal bank account is SCAMMING you and is part of an international scam ring. They have no jobs to offer and you will not be getting a visa.

2024 Census Reminder
When visited by our 2024 enumerators, please review what they capture carefully. Verify the accuracy of names, birthdates, and other details, and ensure legible handwriting to prevent any confusion later on (if not using tablets, which I haven’t seen in use yet).
The general questions focus on family structure and demographic information, not employment and other specifics (which puzzles me because this is a great time to collect valuable information about our population)
Please show kindness to the enumerators—they are volunteers dedicating their time to collect this information. I understand it has been challenging for them lately.
Let me know your thoughts on this year’s 2024 Census program.

But in equal parts. Tip - Marinate the meat with garlic powder and the above sauce for 30 mins to an hour before adding to pan. If you’re using a WOK watch your heat.
