BarYo Festival 'BarYo', is a fusion of two words: 'Bar' derived from barko, meaning 'ship,' and 'Yo' from the cebuano 'pag-ayo,'.

This name pays homage to primary livelihood source of the people of Loocanon, which revolves around the skilled craft of ship repair.
