We are certain God will hear our prayers when we ask for what pleases Him. And if we know God listens when we pray, we are sure that our prayers have already been answered.

PROPHETS AND KINGS

1. WHY KING SOLOMON CALLED WISE MAN?
2. WHAT KING SOLOMON ASK WILE HE PRAY?

Because, HIS A YOUTHFUL RULER MUST BE NOT MERELY A WARRIOR, A STATES MAN, AND A SOVEREIGN, BUT A STRONG , GOOD MAN, A TEACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, AN EXAMPLE OF FIDELITY.

With tender earnestness DAVID entered SOLOMON to be manly and noble, to show mercy and loving_kindness to his subject, and in all his dealing with the nation's of earth to honor and glorify the name of GOD and to make manifest the beauty of holiness.

"" The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
(2 Samuel:23:3)
""And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
(2 Samuel:23:4)

Because he follow the divine inspired instruction of his father his reign would be a reign of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

KING SOLOMON PRAYED.

"And now, O Lord my GOD, thou hast made thy servant KING instead of DAVID my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, A great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give therefore thy servant an ""UNDERSTANDING"" heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between GOOD and BAD: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

"And the speech pleased the Lord, that SOLOMON asked this thing""'.

"Because this was in heart," GOD said to SOLOMON, " And thou hast not asked RICHES, WEALTH, or HONOR, nor the LIFE of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked LONG LIFE; but hast asked WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE for thy self , that thou mayest judge My people," " BEHOLD, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have GIVEN thee a ""WISE"" and an ""UNDERSTANDING" HEART; so there was none like unto thee. Before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto them. And I have also GIVEN thee that which thou hast not ask, both RICHES, and honor," " such as none of the KINGS have had that have been before thee, neither shall there gangster thee have like."

God asks us to rest in Him. He is able to keep that which we have given to Him. If we leave ourselves in His hands, He will give us power through Jesus to make sure that we win the battle against Satan. STJ 71.2

When Christ became a human being, He tied the people of the world to Himself by a tie of love. This tie can never be broken except by our own choice. Satan is always trying to get us to choose to break this tie to Christ.We need to watch and pray that nothing will lead us to choose another master. We are always free to do this.

The apostle Peter spoke about letters Paul had written. He said, “There are some difficult things in his letters which ignorant and unstable people explain falsely.... So they bring on their own destruction.” 2 Peter 3:16. Parts of the Scriptures are hard to understand. Because of these parts, some people say they do not believe the Bible. But the hard parts really show us that the Bible is from God. We cannot understand everything about God in the Bible because our minds are not as great as His. His greatness and goodness cannot be fully understood by human minds. The very grandness and mystery of the Bible should help us to have faith in it as the Word of God. STJ 107.2
The Bible brings us truth that satisfies the needs and desires of every heart. This truth is given in such a simple and interesting way that it surprises and pleases the best minds. Yet it makes clear even to humble and uneducated people how they can be saved. These simply stated truths also touch on subjects that are too hard for us to understand. We accept them only because God spoke them. STJ 108.1

Faith and Acceptance
As God’s Holy Spirit brings to life the spiritual powers of your mind, you begin to see how evil and strong sin is. You feel the guilt and sorrow it brings, and you hate it. You feel that sin has separated you from God. Its power has made you a slave. The more you try to escape, the more you know that you cannot help yourself. You see that your life has been filled with selfishness and sin. Your heart is unclean and your desires are not pure. You want to be forgiven, to be clean, to be set free. But what can you do to be one with God and to be like Him? STJ 46.1
You need peace—Heaven’s forgiveness and peace and love. Money cannot buy that peace. Study will not give it. The mind cannot find it. Being wise will not provide it. You can never hope to receive this peace by your own work and power. STJ 46.2
God offers His peace to you as a gift. “It will cost you nothing!” Isaiah 55:1. It is yours if you will reach out your hands and take it. The Lord says, “You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool.” Isaiah 1:18. “I will give you a new heart and a new mind.” Ezekiel 36:26. STJ 46.3
You have confessed your sins and chosen to put them out of your life. You have decided to give yourself to God. Now go to Him and ask Him to wash away your sins. Ask Him to give you a new heart, a new mind. Then believe that He does this, because He has promised. Jesus taught this lesson when He was on the earth. You must believe that you receive the gift God promises and that it is yours. STJ 47.1
Jesus healed the sick people who had faith in His power. Healing them made them able to see that He could help them in other ways. It led them to believe in His power to forgive sin. Jesus explained this when He was healing a man who was too sick to get out of his bed. He said, “I will prove to you, then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” Jesus then spoke to the sick man, “Get up, pick up your bed, and go home!” Matthew 9:6. STJ 47.2
John, the disciple of Jesus, told us why Christ healed people. He wrote, “These have been written in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through your faith in him you may have life.” John 20:31. STJ 47.3
Read the Bible stories about Jesus healing the sick. From them you can learn something of how to believe in Him for the forgiveness of sins. Turn to the story of the sick man at the pool of Bethesda. The poor man was helpless. He had not walked for 38 years. Yet Jesus said to him, “Get up, pick up your bed, and go home!” STJ 48.1
The sick man did not say, “Lord, if You make me well, I will obey Your word.” No, he believed Christ’s word. He believed he was made well, and that very moment he tried to walk. He chose to walk. And he did walk. He acted on the word of Christ, and God gave the power. The man was healed. STJ 48.2
Now look at yourself. You are a sinner. You can do nothing to take away your past sins. You cannot change your heart or make yourself holy. But God promises to do all this for you through Christ. Believe that promise. Confess your sins and give yourself to God. Choose to serve Him. God will surely keep His promise to you if you do this. When you believe, God acts. You will be made clean and whole, just as Christ gave the sick man power to walk when he believed that he was healed. It is so if you believe it. STJ 48.3
Do not wait to feel that you are made whole. Say, “I believe it. It is so, not because I feel it, but because God has promised.” STJ 48.4
Jesus said, “When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.” Mark 11:24. There is something important to remember in this promise. You must pray for those things that God wants you to have. God wants to free you from sin and make you His child. He wants to give you power to live a holy life. STJ 49.1
You may pray for these blessings and believe that you receive them. Then you may thank God that you have received them. You may go to Jesus and be made clean and stand before God’s law without shame or sadness. “There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1. STJ 49.2
When you belong to Christ, you are not your own, for you are bought with a price. “God paid a ransom to save you..., and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver.... But he paid for you with the priceless lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” 1 Peter 1:18, 19, TLB. Because you believe what God has said, the Holy Spirit creates a new life in your heart. You are as a child born into the family of God, and He loves you as He loves His own Son. STJ 49.3
Now that you have given yourself to Jesus, do not turn back. Do not take yourself away from Him. Day after day say, “I am Christ’s. I have given myself to Him.” Ask Him to give you His Spirit and keep you by His grace. You became His child by giving yourself to God and believing in Him. You are to live in Him in the same way. The apostle Paul wrote, “Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him.” Colossians 2:6. STJ 49.4
Some people feel that they are on trial and must prove to the Lord that they have changed before they can receive His blessing. But they may receive the blessing right now. They must have His grace, the Spirit of Christ, to help them overcome their weaknesses. Without it they cannot fight against sin. STJ 50.1
Jesus loves to have us come to Him just as we are, sinful, helpless, and needy. We may come, foolish and weak as we are, and fall at His feet in sorrow for sin. It is His glory to put His arms of love around us, heal our wounds, and make us clean. STJ 50.2
Thousands believe that Jesus pardons other people, but not them. They do not believe what God says. But every person who truly repents can know for himself that God freely pardons every one of his sins. STJ 50.3
Do not fear. God’s promises are meant for you. They are for every person who is sorry for his sins. Christ sends angels to bring strength and grace to every believing person. Even the most sinful persons can be strong, pure, and righteous by accepting Jesus, who died for them. Christ is waiting to take away our sin-soiled clothes, and to put on us the clean, white clothes of righteousness. He wants us to live and not die. STJ 50.4
God does not treat us the way people treat each other. He thinks of us with love, mercy, and pity. He says, “Let the wicked leave their way of life and change their way of thinking. Let them turn to the Lord, our God; for he is merciful and quick to forgive.” Isaiah 55:7. “I have swept your sins away like a cloud. Come back to me: I am the one who saves you.” Isaiah 44:22. STJ 51.1
The Lord says, “I do not want anyone to die.... Turn away from your sins and live.” Ezekiel 18:32. Satan tries to keep you from believing the blessed promises of God. He wants to take away from you every bit of hope and every ray of light. But you must not let him do this. Do not listen to Satan. Say to him, “Jesus died so that I could live. He loves me and does not want me to die. I have a loving heavenly Father. Even though I have turned from His love and wasted His blessings, I will go to my Father. I will say, ‘I have sinned against Heaven and against You. I am no longer worthy to be called Your son. Treat me as one of Your hired workers.’” STJ 51.2
Jesus told the story of a son who had left home and how he was received when he decided to come back. “He was still a long way from home when his father saw him; his heart was filled with pity, and he ran, threw his arms around his son, and kissed him.” Luke 15:20. STJ 51.3
This is a beautiful story, but it cannot fully tell of the heavenly Father.’s love and pity. The Lord said through His prophet, “I have always loved you, so I continue to show you my constant love.” Jeremiah 31:3. The Father is hoping for the sinner’s return even while the sinner is far away wasting his life and money in a strange country. When a person feels a desire to return to God, this is God’s Spirit calling, trying to bring the sinner to the Father’s heart of love. STJ 52.1
With the wonderful promises of the Bible before you, how can you doubt? How can you think that Jesus will not welcome the sinner who wants to turn from his sins? Put away such thoughts! Nothing can hurt you more than believing such an idea about our heavenly Father. STJ 52.2
The Father hates sin, but He loves the sinner. He gave Himself when He gave Christ that all who would believe might be saved. He wanted them to be blessed forever in His kingdom of glory. STJ 52.3
What stronger or more loving words could He use to tell us how much He loves us? He said, “Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you.” Isaiah 49:15. STJ 52.4
Look up to Jesus if you have doubts and fears. He lives to ask God to forgive your sins. Thank God for the gift of His dear Son. Pray that His death for you will not be useless. The Spirit invites you today. Come with your whole heart to Jesus and receive His blessing. STJ 52.5
Read His promises. Remember that they tell of His love and pity, which are stronger than words can tell. God’s great heart of infinite love turns to the sinner with never-ending pity. “By the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.” Ephesians 1:7. STJ 53.1
Believe that God is your helper. He wants to change your life, to make it like His perfect life. Come close to Him as you confess your sins and repent, and He will come close to you with mercy and forgiveness. STJ 53.2

"CAN SINCERITY GUARANTEE SALVATION""

Today with the many voices telling us the way to eternal life, how can we know which one is telling the truth? From the BIBLE. The psalms said, ""All your comments are true," and Jesus said, "Your word is truth, " the best source for determining truth isn't the SINCERITY of your own opinion. It's the BIBLE.

,,""LOVING THE TRUTH.""
''''' The truth found in the BIBLE isn't always popular, thought , because sometimes it hurts . Sometimes it hurts. So how can we accepted the the truth if we don't like it.? We must learn to love the the truth LOVING the t means ricognizing that it's the best for us even if we don't like it.. Jesus said, "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will.not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so the it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.," people who love the truth welcome the light from God's WORD, even when it cuts across their natural desires. LOVING THE truth has everything to do with our eternal SALVATION. Speaking of people who will be lost at Christ's second coming. Paul said," They perish because the refused to love the truth and so be saved."" But how can you and I ever learn to love the truth when our natural selves hate it? We can't own our own. We must ask God to put His Love for the truth in our HEARTs. We can pray something like this.," God, please help me to want to live by your truth. Put a love for the truth in my heart."

Some people experience the change from hating the truth to love it quite rapidly--almost instantly. Others find the change happened over time. Either way, it's call the" new birth" or "conversion." Paul decribed it as a renewing of the mind. If we ask Him, God will actually change the way we think and feel so that well hate the thing we once loved, and we'll love the things we once hate.

"LEARNING THE TRUTH."
Even after God has placed a love for the truth in our HEARTs, we still have to LEARN the truth. That means taking the time to read the BIBLE. I suggest that you set aside a half hour each day to read the BIBLE and pray about what you learn.
"But I don't have half hour each day to read the BIBLE!" You may say. That's how it seems right now. However think of the busy young man who meets the "love of his life." If you had asked him a few weeks befor to give you 30 minutes of his time, he would have protested that he couldn't spare even give minuets of his time. But after he meet the young woman, suddenly his priorities are drastically rearranged! Now he can find two or three hours a day to spend with her!
It's the same with reading the BIBLE , the sources of truth. When we learn to love the truth and to love Jesus, who is the truth, we'll gladly rearrange our priorities to make time for reading and studying the BIBLE.

""SETTLING INTO TRUTH""
Abraham Lincoln used to ask, "How many lags does dig have? " and people would say, "four." Then Lincoln would say, "suppose we call the dog's tail a leg. Then how many lags does it have? "They'd "five" And he'd say, "wrong" Calling the dog's tail a leg doesn't make it a leg.
I've known Christians who followed every person who came along with some new teaching or doctrine. If this person said that such as such the truth, then it had to be the truth. But calling something the truth doesn't make it the truth. We must come to the place where we're certain of the truth. And that means developing a foundation of truth on which we can build other truths.
The first step in building a house is to pour the strong foundation. If the foundation is strong, the owner won't have to worry about whether it's going to hold up the rat of the house. That's how it is with a belief system,. Once it's firmly in place, we don't need to keep studying certain aspect of what we believe.
But how can we reach that certainty? How can we Know that we know the truth? Again , by the BIBLE--but but also with the aid of well-balanced spiritual people who also know the BIBLE well. Peter said that" no prophecy of scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation." We shouldn't depend on just own interpretation or that of one or two another people. If we're dealing with a critical issue, we need counsel from a verify if source. Paul said that God place peacher, teacher, and evangelists in the church to build up God's people so they become mature Christians? That's is our goul to become mature Christians with solid, well-balanced understanding of biblical truth.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John:14:6

I've learned that the BIBLE is a strong foundation that provides a satisfying way to live and a wonderful hope for the future. If you're looking for truth, Fist, pray to live the truth. Then spend time studying the BIBLE. And develop relationships with the other BIBLE student so you can benefit from their insight as well. This will give you the satisfaction of discovering how GOD intended you to live and will give you the security of a hope-filled future..

Today's Verse
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense — Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
— 1 John 2:1-2 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

John wants to prevent even one sinful event in the lives of those he loves. He is concerned because he knows that even one sinful event can be used by Satan to discourage and defeat us. We need to know that we have a Savior and a defender. He paid the price to redeem us, he sent his Spirit to help us overcome sin's power, and he will speak to the Father and claim that right to forgive us.
My Prayer...

Father, I'm embarrassed by my weakness and vulnerability when I sin. Even in those moments of shame, I'm thankful that Jesus provided me the way back into your holy presence. Jesus, I thank you for coming to my rescue and my defense. I will not let Satan discourage me when I fall. Instead, I re-commit myself to live with your character and for your glory. In your name, Lord Jesus, my defender, I pray. Amen.

Happy Sabbath

I believe each one of us feel the weight of this old world closing in around us but we have promises from our Savior that He will never leave us. This song has a reassuring message of hope. The song is - Light From Heaven – and is sung by The Collingsworth Family.

“You’re in the darkness your soul is reaching for any promise you can hold onto, but soon you’ll see just what God is teaching the light from heaven will come breaking through. For the sun is always shining though the clouds may hide its view you may not see a silver lining but any day now…the light from heaven will come breaking through. Your spirits heavy your heart is broken you’ve forgotten that the sky is blue. Just wait before Him the door will open then light from heaven will come breaking through…The world around us is growing darker but we know the word of God is true. Before Christ coming times will be harder then light from heaven will come breaking through…”

Philippians 4: 6-7 “Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

I must admit that I don’t understand why God would let us face these trials that come our way. All we have to cling to is His word and His name but that’s enough. Are you clinging to our Savior? If not please ask Him into your life right now.

May God bless you to choose Him as King over your life. May He be the Precaution you need to ground yourself in Christ, so that you can "Walk Within His Shelter & Rest in His Shade, all the days of your life." (Psalms.91) Thus, Christ alone shall be your "Safety, Cure & Healing," unto eternity. As it is written: Samuel was displeased with their request for a king; so he prayed to the Lord, 7 and the Lord said, “Listen to everything the people say to you. You are not the one they have rejected; I am the one they have rejected as their king." (1 Samuel. 8:6, 7, GNB)

Is ambition wrong?

Read:Colossians 3:22-24
Whatever you do , do it heartily ,as to the lord.
-Colossians 3:23

Is ambition wrong? Is it wrong to be driven, to push to be the best? It can be, The difference between right and wrong ambition is in our goal and glory or our own.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:1, Paul tells us that Christians are to live lives " to please God." For some , the drive to please Him is an instant transformation at the time of salvation : for others the transformation is full of stutter - steps and mis-starts. Whether the change happens instantly or gradually , the Christians is to pursue Gods goals not selfish ones.
So, in the workplace we ask: How will that job change help me serve others and Glorify God ?" Ambition oriented toward God is focused outward on Him and others , always how he has gifted us and wants to use us.
( Col. 3:22). Whatever we're doing- in the board room , on the docks, wherever we're working - we're to serve as if doing it for God (vv. 23-24).
We glorify him most and enjoy him most when we work with fervor and excellence for his pleasure, not ours. For his service and the service of others, not self service and personal gain- because he deserves our all
"We grow small trying to be great."

25/01/2016

We need to drink deeper and deeper of the fountain of life. I hope that not a soul will be satisfied without making thorough work for eternity, and from this time on may it be seen, both by precept and example, that you are representatives of Christ. You may have a living testimony to bear: “Hear what the Lord has done for my soul.” The Lord is ready to impart still greater blessings. FW 61.2

“WAR AGAINST THE SOUL”
“But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by [your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:9-12, KJV)
"Abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul" (1 Peter 2:11), is the language of the apostle Peter. Many regard this warning as applicable only to the licentious; but it has a broader meaning. It guards against every injurious gratification of appetite or passion. It is a most forcible warning against the use of such stimulants and narcotics as tea, coffee, to***co, alcohol, and morphine. These indulgences may well be classed among the lusts that exert a pernicious influence upon moral character. The earlier these hurtful habits are formed, the more firmly will they hold their victims in slavery to lust, and the more certainly will they lower the standard of spirituality. {Counsels on Health, p. 67, par.3}
The word of God plainly warns us that unless we abstain from fleshly lusts, the physical nature will be brought into conflict with the spiritual nature. Lustful eating wars against health and peace. Thus a warfare is instituted between the higher and the lower attributes of the man. The lower propensities, strong and active, oppress the soul. The highest interests of the being are imperiled by the indulgence of appetites unsanctioned by Heaven. {Counsels on Health, p. 576par.1}
Great care should be taken to form right habits of eating and drinking. The food eaten should be that which will make the best blood. THE DELICATE ORGANS OF DIGESTION SHOULD BE RESPECTED. God requires us, by being temperate in all things, to act our part toward keeping ourselves in health. He cannot enlighten the mind of a man who makes a cesspool of his stomach. He does not hear the prayers of those who are walking in the light of the sparks of their own kindling. {CH 576.2}
The lower passions have their seat in the body and work through it. The words "flesh" or "fleshly" or "carnal lusts" embrace the lower, corrupt nature; the flesh of itself cannot act contrary to the will of God. We are commanded to crucify the flesh, with the affections and lusts. How shall we do it? Shall we inflict pain on the body? No; but put to death the temptation to sin. The corrupt thought is to be expelled. Every thought is to be brought into captivity to Jesus Christ. All animal propensities are to be subjected to the higher powers of the soul. The love of God must reign supreme; CHRIST MUST OCCUPY AN UNDIVIDED THRONE. Our bodies are to be regarded as His purchased possession. The members of the body are to become the instruments of righteousness. {Adventist Home, p. 127, par. 2}
All habits of indulgence that weaken the physical powers, that becloud the mind, or that benumb the spiritual perceptions, are "fleshly lusts, which war against the soul." 1 Peter 2:11. {COL 53.1}
The indulgence of lustful appetite wars against the soul; it is a constant hindrance to spiritual advancement. THOSE WHO YIELD TO THESE LOWER IMPULSES, BEAR AN ACCUSING CONSCIENCE; and when strait truths are presented, they are ready to take offense. They are self-condemned, and think that these subjects have been purposely selected in order to reprove them. They feel grieved and injured, and withdraw themselves from the assemblies of the church. Then the conscience is not so disturbed. Thus they soon lose their interest in the meetings, and their love for the truth. If these will crucify fleshly lusts, the arrows of truth will pass harmlessly by them. But while they indulge lustful appetite, and thus cherish their idols, they make themselves a mark for the shafts of truth; if the truth is spoken at all, it must wound them. {Counsels on Temperance and Bible Hygiene, p. 152, par. 3}
Our ministers, who know the truth, should arouse the people from their paralyzed condition, and lead them to put away those things that create an appetite for flesh meat. If they neglect to reform, they will lose spiritual power, and become more and more debased by sinful indulgence. Habits that disgust the heavenly universe, habits that degrade human beings lower than the beasts, are practiced in many homes. Let all those who know the truth, say, "Flee fleshly lusts that war against the soul." {Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 399, par.2}
